Be The Change You Want To See In The World Elephant Haven (Elephant Nature Park)

Elephant Haven is part of the Elephant Nature Park organization based in Chang Mai, and although Elephant Haven was once a trekking camp providing tourists with elephant riding and entertainment, it has since been converted into a place where elephants can recover in peace and be elephants again. The business of people using Elephants to acquire easy tourist dollars is ugly, abusive, shameful, and unfortunately quite profitable but places like Elephant Haven & Elephant Nature park serve both as sanctuaries for these animals and as necessary experiential education for tourists and animal lovers alike. They help shine a light on the need for us to reevaluate our relationships to this planets most wonderful creatures. Upon our jouney to Thailand, we had the great pleasure of spending a few days at Elephant Haven, and experienced what it takes to care for these amazing beings. From prepearing food, to feedings them, to walking, playing, and washing them, we even helped shovel & clean up their massive amounts of poop There is no doubt that the people of any animal sanctuary have their hands full. Saving animals is not cheap. Even though its highly rewarding, Elephant Haven still has to compete against the existing Elephant Trekking Camps that continue to win over bussiness by offering rides, and all kinds of sad entertainment provided by bo-hooks and years of abuse and submission. In Thailand, in order to buy an elephants freedom the cost is approx 20, 000 USD. And after it acquires its freedom it only gets more expensive. Food, shelter, vet bills, care-takers, up keeping facilities, and property for the elephants to roam lead to an endless amount of expenditures. And when putting the elephant to work is not an option to bring in revenue, sanctuaries rely on visitors and donations. So, we ask that you help in any way you can. Every single dollar is worth something to the people of Elephant Haven. So thank you. We believe that it is our duty to protect those in need and we've come to a point in our history where so many of our animal friends need the help of places like this. We hope to raise enough money to provide Elephant Haven with even just a little more financial assistance as they continue to lead by example. We thank you for taking this time to watch the video, visit our gofundme page, and contribute to the change we all wish to see upon our planet. Lets stand together as one and speak for the voiceless, they need us as much as we need them. This video is. wow, i have no words. I truly thank both of you for doing what you're doing, for opening thousands of eyes with your absolutely mind-blowning videos that not only are incredibly well filmed, but spread such a positive message and most importantly, awareness. I think that's what this platform is for; each and every video has to have a message, whatever it is, and even though we have to be optimist and you totally can be proud of how far you've came, i think it is really sad that this video doesn't reach as much people around the world as it should; but, as I like to say, small steps for giant improvement, amirite? ;) And i think you agree that this world is thriving for humongous changes, in multiple areas: poverty, human rights, nature's protection (this also covers species preservation, equality, bla bla bla; y'all know the drill. Not as if it's been decades since we know the importance of this things, right? But hey: small steps for giant improvement. And there are also so much factors that makes it difficult to prioritize these fights: you know, life's going on, gotta make money dude, my family comfort first, which are important too but. let's not ramble too much. Also, i'd like to recommend you a book that serves pretty much the same purpose of this video, but treats the subject. in more depth - i guess? -, through the humanitory adventure of the main character, Morel, who fights for the elephants' right -and at the same time for the human rights, and. for freedom-, knowing that it'll impact people's lives. i don't masterize enough vocabulary in english, as i'm french, to describe you how eye-opening this book was to me, but everyone who's reading this comment has to get his hand on this book. It's called The Roots Of Heaven, from Romain Gary, which is. uh, kind of the best writer in the entire world? Yes; not as if it was my favourite human being. Seriously, i recommend it to all of you; just get your hands on this book y'all, i promise, no, i swear to god and to anything you believe in, that you will never regret it. (sorry for the spelling mistakes, i hope i still made it understandable)PS: you literally bring light to my mornings with your yoga practices, keep up the good work guys

I never comment, but this video mean so much. What it made me feel was both heartbreaking and really a kick of motivation to keep on the track to help people and animals living a life in freedom and harmony with nature, and it not always easy to keep in touch with it while living in big city where you're constantely separated from all this. Thank you so much from Belgium, together we are all one and your voices will have lots of echoes everywhere, keep going you two

Dear Boho Beautiful, First, I must say that this video is absolutely amazing. Thank you for spreading the word about elephants and doing everything you can to save them. Second, this video is so good that I've featured it on my blog, the Eco Travel Bug, and I just wanted you guys to know. I've written a post on the 10 cruelest animal attractions, where elephant riding is the worst one. Keep inspiring with your beautiful videos. Much love xxx

I have always been an elephant lover. It saddens me that humanity has been this unjust to such a peaceful animal. Thank you for sharing I was just wondering, how did you find out about this sanctuary? I visited a sanctuary in Malaysia called the Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre before, but I am interested to seeing what other sanctuaries there are to support. It was a dream come true to see elephants not being ridden. Great work you two

Thank you so much for this video. Elephants are my favourite animals and I worry everyday that one day they will be gone forever. I'm only 14 and it saddens me to think I might never get the chance to meet one, or that if I ever have children that they won't know what elephants are. I am so thankful and happy to see people spreading the message and supporting, in my opinion, one of the most worthy causes. Thank you

Funny how manipulative, hippocritical, bimbo-ish, self-interested beauty products adverts get 100 million views, yet meaningful videos like these get only 100 k. We are such as selfish speciesBeauty products, is what they call it. Yet none of them actually make you more beautiful, inside or outside. They just temporarily deny the fact that you need to take more care of yourself.

I just tried to donate but it says no longer accepting donations. Are you able to get them to keep it open? As I'm sure as more and more people find this video, it could be a longterm ongoing income for the sanctuary: ) Please let me know if you guys plan to get your gofundme page restarted. Thanks SO much for making this video. XX
