I literally just got screwed by the Ulta Beauty Salon yesterday and had to call higher management because they refused to fix the mess their stylist did. Salon manger never even seen my hair and called to tell me they wouldnt refund me and would charge me to fix it after I paid $150.
I appreciate honest stylists and ones who will be up front if they dont feel comfortable doing my hair, not the ones who do it anyways to make their money.
Definitely cried over this mess, why is hair so emotional lol

I went to a pretty white hair school. I remember seeing people who had been in the school longer with mannequins that had kinky natural hair, but we never got them, never really learned much about natural hair. I was taught though that if I dont feel confident styling someones hair not too and to send them to someone who can! I definitely wouldnt have done the last girls hair to make sure I didnt ruin it!

How do these people even get enough customers and money to be able to run their businesses? Or is it people go one time then never go back again. Id feel awful doing this to someones hair and would feel horrible accepting money for the disaster. Maybe actually learn how to do hair before charging people a service you cannot provide.

You walk into an empty hair salon and what's the first thing they say- Have you got an appointment. Off course I didn't have or need one as the place was empty. They took my details and email first. The haircut was ok. 6 weeks later I received an email requesting feedback on the cut. I had to report that it's growing on me

Its one thing to not know how to work on a certain texture of hair that is foreign to you. BUT TO SIT THERE AND DESTROY HER HAIR LIKE THAT. bro I would be BALD if someone fried my hair like that! then the person twirling her hair with that tiny ass round brush OMG. they were just making everything worse and worse.

Unpopular opinion: blow drying/flat ironing curly hair isnt that hard and just a LITTLE common sense will take you very far. Like at least stretch out the strand before putting a comb through it? Theyre so dumb, I dont even think they can do straight hair properly

Worst experience I ever had: I had bright blood red hair and for my senior formal (prom, I wanted it to go back to my natural colour. So went to a salon and after 5 hours the stylist giggled as they said yep thats your natural colour. it was bright orange.

Thats why I dont go to salons. Im from a small town and they wouldnt admit that they didnt know how to do black hair. You cant let my hair air dry. It has to be dried 100% and then styled. If Im going to wreck my hair, Id rather do it myself for free.

70$ for that mess? I would blow up! I paid 85$ for a coloring and styling in one of the best and most expensive hair salons in my country. Sure I dont have extremly curly hair, but at the time it was looong, like over my butt. They needed 3x the color.

This is why I don't let anyone touch my hair. All we have here is places like Hair Cuttery and Super Cuts. I want an amazing color and cut so I guess I'm gonna have to make a trip to New York because that's where the great stylists are.

Im currently in hair school and Im soo thankful they have taught us how to work with textured hair. It really should be mandatory. I know people in the industry who have never worked with curly/textured hair and it baffles me.

Its so weird to me to see stylist that dont know how to do curly hair cause I dont have curly hair but Ive seen enough information on social media to know what not to do and these are people that are professionally trained.

You have to section it and use nice paddle brush to get it done properly. The curling iron process is ridiculous they could use the flat iron and give it a curl. They are just making a mess out of it!
