I want a curly shag. I can't find anyone to help. I'm 53 and wore a shag when it was in style the first time.
Since I have naturally curly hair I need a curly variation, but works when done right.
I even went to beauty school back in the 80s and I'm not brave enough to do my own do.

With such gorgeous tanned skin and such a pretty face a nice airy light shag would look so stunning on heeeeerrrrr!
That technique was just not it. Even on the mannequin it looked like the front was hacked and the back was forgotten lol.

Me: i have never in my life gone to a hair salon (sadly) cus my mom was a hair dresser (on the bright side) my mom let me get my hair bleached and dyed for the first time when i was 9 years old

Haircutting scissors are like 250+ dollars. And even worse, you can't sharpen them yourself so if they get dull you either have to pay a lot to have them sharpened again or trow them away.

Her shag looks weighted and boxy like u said and the layering isn't the best but she would like good with a shag especially since her hair is short and the type of color that her hair is.

Why did you not cut the hair from her prospective? If you had cut the hair from behind her. As she is looking at it. And with the fringe/bangs as your guide as I took it to be.
