I recently started binging gel nails. I've never done salons, and was clueless, but tired of thin, easily damaged nails. You may know these things and are just keeping things clear for the shots, but,
For those shorter nails, I came across, and it works great for sealing, instead of wiping left to right across the tip, go opposite, brushing from the tip, in toward the cuticle, it'll cap the nail without getting underneath or on your skin.
Also, for the shortest, especially when using your non dominant, use a piece of tape pushed up under the nail, and pulled tight along the side of the finger, it pulls the skin away from the nail, giving you more clearance.

I used to not like fake nails, I prefer my real nails (still do) but I also hated how nail polish would chip off and I literally would have to paint them over and over again constantly so having to go to the nail salon and actually have nails that don't chip was amazing and now I have a very different opinion.
Also hack (maybe not, if you don't want to spend so much money on nails every two weeks just leave them on until they start to break off, I had nails on for a month and a half before I went to get another set.

I used to use automotive touch up paint as nail polish (with 2 coats of base of course. it contains toluene and lead. HYPER METALLIC, lasted so long and the vial with brush was perfect. Unfortunately car colors have become lamer and lamer throughout the years. I also feel wrong and not myself without color on my nails. And i would NEVER let someone else do mine lol.

I'm just SO glad you had fun making this video. I admire that you want to do well at your job but that doesn't take away the fact you deserve to make art you love. Your viewers do not own you nor does fame or clicks or whatever. Make your content, do your work. But don't ever be afraid or justify doing something you LOVE. Thank you for this video.

Nail artist here. The fun part of doing nails yourself is that you can be proud knowing you did it. Doesnt matter how they turn out because others are always really nice about it and impressed you did them! And I think these turned out really great, it definitely takes skill to do gel!

in my experience as a cosmetologist, it is better to always start off with your non-dominant hand first so that eventually you get better on the non-dominant hand, to this day my non-dominant hand is superior to my dominant hand while doing my own mani.

Tip for doing your nails in the future: if you have a problem with the light colors like yellow being too translucent, try putting a coat of white polish down before the actual color. It'll help make it more opaque. Love you and your videos so much!

When you do an ombre on natural nails, one tip, use this silicone gel for protecting the cuticles from the color. Then do the colors side by side on a makeup sponge and then sponge it over the nail with little gentle touches. And then cure it.

Pro tip: Putting down an opaque white coat will make the colors pop and look more saturated in fewer layers. Other than that, great job, especially going for the size 4 angled brush to help you cover your nail without flooding the cuticles.

brand issues - not being able to see the colour through the bottle or no swatch topper to show the colour. brush breaks away from handle. ya cheep is cheep, id expect that from a 99 bottle for the local pharmacy.

BIG TIP! I do this all the time. Best thing to use is a cheap wedge make up applicator. Layer it down to what you want, then roll/press in onto your nail. You usually have to do 3 presses but the results are amazing.

Brad, If you put a dehydrator then a primer under the color, your color wont pop off lol. Just like when you say you have to prep the hair before you color you gotta prep your nails. Hope that helps

Use a makeup wedge and paint the 2 colours half and half and use the sponge to defuse the colour on your nail. This method helps to blend the colour and one one can do it this way
