Hairdresser reacts to DIY Highlights at home gone wrong! XxaftonpuppetxX: I ve had a bad experience with a streaking cap mother did it for me and it hurt like hell. Then my hair when rock hard I tried to wash it and my hair was so tangled and it was al or impossible to take the cap off but when I did 1 hour later my hair was so damaged and she had to brush a gigantic knot out of my whole hair. my scalp was so sensitive and I lost lots of hair, worst of all. THE HIGHLIGHTS NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP? after all that pain and effort nothing worked at all. I love your videos brad I am addicted to your amazing content

I used to want highlights, and about thirty years ago, I got them. but the maintenance was crazy. Every time I went to the salon for a touchup she turned more and more hair blonde (I was a natural brunette. So even in the salon, it can go massively wrong. By the way, now I have easy-peasy highlights! I have turned my salt-n-pepper into brown hair with highlights in one step by using an ash blonde demi-permanent; colors the white blonde and ever-so-slightly lifts the dark brown.

The first girl was wearing the cap upside down! But the colour she ended up with was so much better than the way she started.
I did cap highlights on my mousy hair for years and it was great. Every once in a while (every 5 years ish) I would have foils done professionally, but I did a better job on my own. It is possible. A lot depends on the colour of your hair to begin.

Can you just do a video where you show people how to use a highlight cap correctly? I know you've talked about what to do in several videos, but you've never shown us. I don't plan on ever using one, I just want to see it so we can get videos of you reacting to people using your tutorial

I m a level 11 platinum blonde with highlights on my level 7 roots. I go to the hair salon every 4 months to get my highlights refreshed and I get a trim every time. I ve dyed my hair 6 different colors myself over 10 years, but I would NEVER do my own highlights. Go to a salon girls!

If you are not 100%knowing what you are doing. go to a hairsalon. the cheap home diy wil make you buy more and more trying to fix it. end result fryed hair. and spend more than at the salon. blond is for pro and people who really know what they are doing.

My mom has done highlights on my hair for like 20 years and it always looks amazing except twice but she said she wouldn t do a good job that time. We just put light brown on top and it fixed it. So the first person will look fine if they do something like that.

In November of 2021 at the end of the month, my mom did highlights on my hair. I have light brown hair with natural highlights. My mom used boxed bleach dye and it worked. It was my first time getting my hair dye. I give my mom's hair work a 8/10.

Without this commentary I would have been even more triggered. I also just overall dislike how some people don't want to admit that maybe they messed up after literally trying something for the first time. But nope, it's the product's fault.

When I began expressing interest in coloring my hair, my mom used a cap on me in an attempt to deter me from wanting to keep coloring. It did not work, lol. Guess she accepted it because she helped me during high school when I colored it.

There are chemicals in everything lol. Our bodies are made out of chemicals. Oxygen is a chemical. Water is made out of chemicals. It s so funny when people say there aren t any chemicals in this, or claim that chemicals are bad.

I feel like the more Brad watches these videos the lower his standards for us gets lol. Wonky sectioning? He'll take it. Weird in-between colors? It's doing something, he'll take it. Doing something with foils? He'll take it.
