Pro Hairdresser Tests The Ice Hair Straightener Steve: In theory I think this'll work. Back when I was training to be a hair stylist I remember all the stuff about rinsing out certain treatments with cool water, and then another thing I was taught was that after rinsing out conditioner with warm water, if you do a cool rinse it helps give smoother, softer, more moisturised and nourished hair, supposedly because cool rinses close cuticles whereas heat opens the cuticles (I guess thats why we use steamers for conditioning treatments and climazones for chemical processes. So, based off that theory the ice straighter should make the cuticles close, giving shinier, smoother hair. And I'm guessing the product you spray on beforehand is pretty moisturising. That would also explain why you have to wash and condition your hair first, so it's not just clean but so the warm water has opened the cuticles, the conditioner has provided moisture and nutrients to the cortex of the hair fibre and the spray tops up moisture levels before the ice straightener comes along and closes the cuticle locking in all that moisture and goodness. Based off the theory I was taught way back when this makes total sense to me so I'm curious to see if it works and what Brad's thoughts on it are. I guess it's time to watch - to the video!

So in actuality I would say yes the directions say to do one thing but why do people not follow instructions do what works for you. in order to avoid breakage the hair needs to be DRENCHED IN WATER OR MOISTURIZING DEEP CONDITIONER SOMETHING WITH HELLA MOISTURE AND LOTS OF IT. this works amazing actually once you properly soak your hair in water or moisturizing deep conditioner and use it the hair won't rip or pull because there is slip and the ice actually make perfect sense because the freezing effect is sealing in the moisture into thr cuticle. it is a scientific fact that cold/freezing water does lock in moisture.

If moisture is best for healthy hair, my thick ass hair should be insanely healthy cause I wash it daily if that's wrong forgive me Brad. I just feel dirty if I don't wash myself and my hair daily, is that weird?
If freezing your hair is supposed to make it healthier, then why does color and bleach not work for me? If I've dyed my hair I don't wash it every day, but why does it still wash out so damn fast, like within a week it's practically gone.

Just make sure you cover your hair and big juciy titties when you take a shower and your hair should keep its color much longer.

I brought the Inverse system when they first launched years ago and tried it for a couple of months and it didn't do anything to help my hair and I have so much hair break off or get pulled out by this product. I returned it after the ice packs started leaking. Also if I remember rightly the spray smelt like vinegar and felt horrible in my hair. Felt like it was a waste of time and money so glad I did get my money back as it was faulty.

Edit
Can someone check this first reply on my comment and tell me what's going on? Cause uhmm. what?
All I know is anytime I go to the springs, my hair is at it's absolute healthiest, shiniest, softest for the next couple of days.
Is it from the colder water? I dunno. Is it from whatever is in that natural water? I dunno. I just know nothing has ever compared.

I'm pretty sure the idea is to close the hair cuticles just like a cold rinse. So you do your normal heat drying which raises the cuticles, and then this is supposed to smooth it down.
Overall I don't think it's gonna give any better results than a smoothing product. Or you can use the colder setting on most hair dryers and get pretty much the same result.

The video said to only run it over each section until it feels cold to the touch (1: 37. So you didn't need to keep going over the hair once it felt cold. The instructions said to use it as many times as you can in a few weeks is recommended (1: 05, not a lot in one session. I still think that its probably a waste of money but yeah.

I went snorkeling in Iceland in winter, wearing full drysuits. When we got out and waddled to the van, our bodies froze COMPLETELY solid, and our hair froze into solid braidcicles. It was bonkers. Our tears froze on our cheeks. The water was so clear and the snow drifts looked like white sand dunes in Florida, but cooooold.

I appreciate Brad's honesty, he doesn't try to find a slight diffetence if there's none. I know from experience if you try a new hsi product or tool that makes your hair softer you're gonna notice it right away. When I bought an ionic hairdryer after a very cheap shitty one I felt the difference immediately.

I m a curly/coily girl- and I know I ve heard to rinse your hair (after shampoo and conditioner) with cool/cold water and it helps seal the cuticle of the hair to lock moisture in. I notice a difference when I do this- but the ice seems really intense and might break your hair because it s too cold!

With natural hair you wash shampoo out with warm water and wash your conditioner out with cold water. It helps the hair retain moisture and less frizzy. This would probably be great after putting leave in conditioner on and then defining curls. You should try it on curly hair. I d definitely try it.

I think since those face aloe Vera popsicle mould things have gained popularity they tried to piggy back off of that product. But the whole reason that rubbing frozen aloe on your face makes your face look good is because it reduces inflammation there s no inflammation in a hair strand lol

Did you just break the take fine sections rule? I love your videos
Do you have to blow dry the hair after? Wouldn't the moister you just locked in when you inversed quickly evaporate?
Disclaimer: I am not a hairstylist and know next to nothing about hair just curious.

I love that you tested the product on your own hair instead of on Miss Manny Quinn because it shows how much effort you put into your videos. I feel really bad that your hair was coming out because of the product. May the hair gods gift you with a quick hair regrowth.
