I had been wanting to bleach my hair for a while but my mom could never get an appointment in with the hairdresser, until one random day where she said that the stylist was available later in the day and if I wanted to go. I said yes because I had been wanting to do it for a while, but I was kind of skeptical about how the appointment would go because the day before I had washed my hair, leaving my scalp more open to burning. I literally did everything I was supposed to avoid doing like eating chocolate, caffeine, exercise, literally everything, but I had no idea I was going to be dying my hair the next day or else I wouldn't have washed it. so when I went I could only bleach once because it burned too much

Ive been bleaching my hair for years now and Id like to point out that no you shouldn't leave it on if its burning really bad. Thats your scalp literally frying. Also, if youre new to bleaching or if its a different brand than what you normally use (because you can have adverse reactions to specific brands, I learned that the hard way, do not leave it on for the full hour. 20-40 minutes max and then let your head rest after rinsing so you can see what reaction you'll have. As for the green in his hair BLEACHING IS NOT THE BEST OPTION. He needs red toner, not more bleach

Oh weird, the second round of bleach seemed to do nothing at all. Aw his poor scalp. The first time I tried to bleach my own hair at home (starting from very dark brown, I did 2 bleach processes of 30 volume for 45 minutes and only got to deep yellow. I had to let my hair recover for 5-7 days because it was feeling ROUGH before I could do the last round of bleach, so that I could dye it blue (yes my profile picture was exactly after that last round. Patience. Patience is worth it.

Hey Brad! So I wanted to keep my hair mostly brown but I added bleach to the money piece style I guess it’s called. And some to the very bottom layer of my hair. The bleach took very well in the front but the back is very brassy. Later I used blonde ash colored dye. Unfortunately I had to use box dye cuz I’m broke lol. Anyways I need the bottom part of my hair to be The same color as the top. Can you link me or make a video to help me do the right steps to achieve the color Thank you!

I bleached my hair a years ago and it didn't bode well at all, my roots were almost white but the rest of my hair was orange I didn't get any more bleach to do it again cuz I didn't want my hair to fall off, besides I have a very sensitive scalp and I have to be careful what I put on it, last time I bleached my hair coconut oil or olive oil on my scalp so it wouldn't get so irritated and it worked fine, but that was like in 2021 or 2022.

I see alot of really good suggestions in the comments. I also wanted to add in WHERE he applied the 2nd round of bleach. He just redid his whole head which is where I think he messed up. If he had just redid his actual hair rather than the cut sides I think he would've avoided the chemical burns. Plus his sides processed really well the first time anyways, it was the grown out hair that didn't take well the first time.

Idk why people fck up bleach so badly man i watched some of brads tutorials (not sone randoms. His own tutorials) resd the instructions and did exactly what it said. And it turned out perfectly. I lifted it light enough, even with years of red box dye, so i can slap pink on and it sill looks good after months and months. (Besides my roots, not the point here) and my hair is not damaged from it. Tf are yall doing

Use 10 vol instead of 20 and leave it on, leave it leave it. Until it lifts then remove as much as you can (Dry and use comb to remove ) then reapply again with the 10 vol bleach and then leave again for another hour or two. Until your hair is blonde enough all over to tone evenly, and gently apply also don’t rub into your hair and scalp. Think gentle with this process

I always Algarve trouble finding a hairdresser that wants to bleach my hair cause I am very dark brown. So I tend to just use a very light semi permanent collor on my hair to just get a darker version cause ei do not dare bleaching my own hair cause I don’t know what I am doing I like the collers I end up with but I’ll never have the collor I want this way: (

If I was him I would have used purple shampoo and then let some purple conditioner sit in my hair for around 30 minutes and then wait a month abd a half before even thinking about bleaching again. This is how I turned the bottom half of my hair white when I had it half black half white.

NEVER WASH BLEACH OR COLOR OUT WITH YOUR FACE AIMED DOWN! That's a really easy way to end up with permanent eye damage. If no one is home to help you rimse your hair in the sink like a salon, just take a shower or use the shower head while you look at the ceiling.

Brad, you would have me charged with a war crime if you saw my bleach routine chaotic process, but people ask for my card all the time. Except I don't do hair for anyone but myself, and that's because a $30 DIY is cheaper than $800 salon visit.

Last week my uncle went to some sketchy salon to get his hair bleached and he sat with the bleach on his head for 11 HOURS STRAIGHT. Then the dude who was doing his hair washed it off and APPLIED A SECOND ROUND OF BLESCH FOR THREE MORE HOURS-

An hour Oh hell no. As a stylist for hair that short no. 30 mins tops. At some point the product dies and it isn’t doing anything other than damage. After 30 mins it should be taken off or reapplied.

I have never left bleach on for an hour. Never. I have dark brown hair and it has never needed that much time. The hair in my profile pic was 20-30 minutes. An hour and your hair would be deep fried noodles.

As a cosmetology you should know if it's burning, you need to immediately wash it off bc you are burning your scalp & will have blisters. so I wouldn't say No no no to longer time.
