People really need to stop with the Brazilian blowout. Even the new formulations are not gonna be good for you. The only caveat that they’re allowed to sell it is that it’s in liquid form which somehow isn’t toxic however to work, you have to vaporize it and it specifically says if you vaporize it, it’s
Toxic. This has been a whole issue for years. They reformulate it every couple years because this is an issue, but they just find some loophole every time. I have known many stylist get diarrhea nausea I personally get the worst headaches I feel dizzy, it’s unlike anything else I genuinely feel like I’m dying or something. and feel sick for days If I’m even around it. I knew a woman that did them frequently and I’m not saying that that’s why, but she did get cancer and later die from that And I’m sure it didn’t help. Thank you for posting this people need to be aware. I know it’s still an advertisement for your product but it’s helping awareness and obviously your product is helping people not have to use Brazilian so I think it’s amazing so many Hair Stylists do not want to talk about this because they make sooooooo much money But it’s not worth their health or their clients health to do it

It sounds like Brad's product is just a version of ColorWow's Dream Coat.
He also misrepresents the negative results of keratin treatments. They look beautiful when properly done and last a very long time.
So far as the dangers of doing keratin treatments, the answer is simple and written in the instructions. JUST USE PROPER VENTILATION!
In informal logic, this fallacy is called attacking the straw man.
In short, one presents a very poor argument to support the opposing viewpoint and then a very strong argument in favor of one's own argument(in this case he is hawking his own product.
This unfairly weights the person's argument and uses smoke and mirrors to sway people to buy Brad's product.
This is both misleading and disingenuous.
Do better, Brad.

That's what I like to see, Brad - you giving an honest opinion about harmful products. Being a hairdresser exposes you to enough harmful fumes; you do not need any more added to the mix. We laymen depend on videos like this, and I would like to see more reviews of, say, certain brands of hair dye, bleach, etc. Someone said it this video is smoke and mirrors to boost your sales and she bases that merely on the fact that she likes her keratin treatments and how her hair looks afterwards. The general consensus seems to be that keratin treatments can be harmful, which has nothing to do with how it makes your hair look so yeah, recommending a safe alternative is just fine with me.

when i was working as hairdresser and learned to do keratin treatment cause my boss was to lazy for it ( i was just an apprentice) she forbid me to wear a mask - cause it makes the treatment look dangerous. i did it once without mask and almost ended up in hospital with respiratory issues. i was on sick leave for a week because i was coughing all the time and suffered from terrible headaches. i'm glad that the moment i was gone her business went down the drain.

Thanks for the warning. My entire life I’ve had a really bad reaction when exposed to Formaldehyde. I passed out from not being able to breathe in high school bio lab. I managed to make it through college lab but I wore a mask and caught a lot of teasing over itHad hives for a week. I will definitely avoid one of these. I would have been so embarrassed to pass out in a hair salon. You are my hero for this one. Lol

I just ordered this on THURSDAY I’m actually giving the set I purchased to my friend. After 20 yrs of permanent black dying her hair, it’s a mess. Since she can’t afford salon care, I knew just what to do. Next step We’ll follow a Brad Mondo at home hair cutting tutorial (to the tee) and I’ll finish her up with your Xmondo Gloss treatment! Thank you for making such amazing products, truly

My hair loves to stick up like static no matter what time of year it is, so that’s why I get the keratin treatment sometimes. It tames the flyaways, fizz, and makes it look slick and shiny. Definitely not greasy or dull. The one that I get done doesn’t have any fumes or smoke like other keratin treatments do. It’s completely organic and is much more gentle on the hair/scalp.

Crazy, when I do a keratin treatment on someone it looks nothing like that. It is straight, soft, shiny and lasts 3-5 months with proper maintenance. There are formaldehyde-free versions of most of them as well.
I am sure your product is a delight.
But don't do a poor job of a service and then show it off as being how it normally looks. Disingenuity does not suit you.

I absolutely love this product! My step mom gave it to me to try out and it is by far the best product I have ever had. All I use is a little bit of leave in conditioner and then this when I straighten my hair. My hair looks great for days! No frizz! The only thing that I don't like is that the bottle claims it can last for several washes but I don't think it really does.

Is there anything that can be used for repair or good treatments that your hair needs that doesn’t require heat to work
I have used the gloss and I love it, but I don’t have curly hair so many of the treatments and styling products aren’t for me. I basically just brush my air and air dry but I want to prevent/repair damage from being blond.

In Brazil we are used to being exposed to this kind of treatment from a very young age. I started using it when I was 12, I'm 24 now and have been getting it twice a year ever since. I decided to stop this year because it damaged and thinned my hair to a point where it looks like I have alopecia/bald spots. I definitely do not recommend.

I used to get Brazilian blowouts every six months when I was younger, and I loved them - they kept my hair silky and shiny (it's typically frizzy and curly. Unfortunately, as you said, not the healthiest for you or your hair and even if it feels nice, the treatments can cause damage over time. I'll have to give this a go!

I have asthma, and I had an attack at work after a coworker used Lysol as an air spray and I had walked behind her inhaling the spray as I was going to break. Boss was upset at ME. NOT the girl who used the product incorrectly. I couldn't imagine what that treatment would do to me. No thank you. I'll take the frizz.

Many of the keratin treatments we use in salon dont have formaldehydes anyone as they know the risk.
You can achieve a soft wave, volume, curled ends, movement, when doing a keratin treatment, it shouldn't leave the hair looking greasy or poker straight if thats not what you're after

There are formaldehyde free keratin treatments and other smoothing treatments available, you have to look for a salon that does them and ask directly. If they don’t know, keep looking. I’ve gotten them consistently for a few years now and love how manageable it makes my hair

At least the salon that I’m working at doesn’t have formaldehyde of the new keratin treatments that is coming soon in services so I hope this one is better than have bad chemical exposing in the air that doesn’t affect me, my coworkers, and clients’ health

A couple years ago while getting my hair highlighted at an Aveda salon, two girls, one on each side of me, were getting keratin treatments and I was furious the salon performed that service out in the open next to other clients. I refused to ever return.

Can confirm, keratin treatments suck! I once got one on my curls, not really knowing what it was, thinking it was like a protein treatment and being horrified at the end of it. I washed my hair every day afterwards so I could get my curl pattern back.

I had profesional permanent Japanese straightening done to my hair before. It was sooo smooth and perfect hair like a horses tail. Great if you have medium thick hair but I cut it all off and decided to embrace my natural curls. Best decision for me
