Hello, guys. In today's video, we are going to be creating a Tartan nail. Yes, that's right. We are going Scottish and we are going Christmassy, plus we've got the lovely Andrea on the show today. OMG How cool is that? So, I've already created and sculpted out a stiletto nail for today's design. For the background colour of the nail, I am going to be using a brand spanking new product called Cat Eyes and we are going to be using the Aurora Australis colour. These cat eyes products are to die for, possibly 9 times if you get my drift. The Aurora Australis is actually the southern lights. Yes, that is a real thing. Southern lights do exist. This new product actually has magical qualities, once you cure them you can create a vertical ombre almost automatically. Afterward, I am gonna get a bit of Cabernet, Burnt Umber and Ocean Depths and then pop a bit of them onto a palette. I will also be adding a little bit of gel residue wipe off solution to my dampen dish. So now, I am gonna dip my brush into the solution and then start to paint the Scottish Tartan design onto the nail using the gel polishes. Once we've finished creating our design, we are going to top coat the nail and then cure it. Now we are going to slightly buff over it and wipe over it with some gel residue wipe off solution and then topcoat it again and then cure it. Finally, we are gonna finish the design off with some stones and a little bit of cuticle oil This is a design that would make even Mary, The Queen of Scots blush

Seriously don't they teach you guys about life below the equator? Don't tell me you don't know what the equator is either? The Northern Lights are also called Aoroa Borialis Beautiful nails anyway Kirsty I have some Scottish heritage in my family, and some Welsh, so will put this one in my repertoire as well. You girls need to get out your geography books again Merry Xmas everyone Love from Leanne, down under Australia ( Not far from the southern lights. PS: We can see the Southern Lights (Arora Australis) from certain parts of Australia. Adam would know that, hey mate?

FYI: Haggis, the national dish of Scotland, is a type of pudding composed of the liver, heart, and lungs of a sheep (or other animal, minced and mixed with beef or mutton suet and oatmeal and seasoned with onion, cayenne pepper, and other spices. The mixture is packed into a sheep's stomach and boiled. IT IS NOT MADE FROM SHEEP'S STOMACH. LOL

Hi Kirsty. LOVE your designs as ALWAYS. If I can ask questions, how do you stop your lines from spreading? my gels seems to leak? Also, I have a stunning Christmas red, it cures on majority of most of my clients, but will NOT cure on 1-2 nails Cures on the rest. Its ell shaken/mixed. Can you advise please?

By the way Pronouncing Cabernet as ca-bairn-AY is the English pronunciation. Cabernet is French, so Kirsty was closer with her original pronunciation Its more of a ca-bairn-eh. Love your videos, and I ADORED this tartan

When you do a design that has to go into the lamp multiple times from the gel polish, do you use a product to protect the clients skin from the damage of the lamps rays?
reply

I love the Aurora Australis polish. You inspired me to see if I could do something with my grandmother's tartan. My hand's not as steady as yours, though.
