Today Im sat on the floor because were doing toenails on my very own fake tan covered feet. My nails are very stained with fake tan so Im going to do a gel polish on my toes and also build out the corner on my big toe. Im gonna start by removing my clear top coats with acetone which will dehydrate the nail too. Im then going to prep by easing back the cuticles, removing the dead skin and filing the free edge. Im also going to clean up underneath the free edge. When using the electric file, make sure the rotation is pushing away from the nail. For the next bit, Im going to use kitchen roll as a a disposable toe separator. Im then going to base coat the big toe, cure and apply acrygel to the corner to make it squarer. Ill then file the acrygel and apply base coat to the rest of the nails. To apply the polish, drag off one side of the brush and then start a little above the cuticle and push the polish back down towards the cuticle gently and then drag up to the tip. Use a brush dipped in gel residue alcohol solution to remove anything thats got on the skin. Im then going to use a pointy tool to move the gel closer to the cuticle and create a neater line. for the smaller toes, Im going to remove even more excess from the brush. Im doing two coats of this then a top coat. Im then going to apply cuticle oil and pull the cuticle back up to nail to neaten up the cuticle line again

Question? A podiatrist suggested I remove 1 big toenail, after working on my feet wearing heels, my big toes went numb for a short while, 1 had weird lines across it as if it grew faster and slower at weird intervals but eventually returned to normal, the other being the bigger foot, that nail went wonky. The feeling returned though. But ever since, I literally need to keep it at half the full length, and filed down. It grows weird, that I'm removing crusted nail from underneath. If I dont do it atleast monthly or bimonthly, well it use to have odor. Not the last few yrs though i do wear more sandals vs closed toe shoes. They suggest removing it so i dont beed so much care of it. . this would leave no growing nail on it either. Though I use to work in the industry, the shoos I worked at didn't cover pedis. Do they use gel or? As a temp type nail on a nail bed? The dr claims the bed can be painted as if a nail, but. it wouldn't look right, well to me. Lol. Plus how often est. Im about to have spinal surgery literally in 2 days. I hv considered removing it so I dont need to worry about the nail returning to the bad odor lvl if i cant bend my neck to work on it as much. My sons an artist, and when I show him how to do some of our crafts, he does pretty good. He's a great painter then anything else. He has trimmed, colored and bleached hair but no where as if he worked in a salon. I know he wouldn't make it through state board. lol. Let alone 3 as I did. Well 2 fully, 1 partial. back in the day, each state had different requirements. Being a military spouse, we moved often, so. ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Lol. Tell I got my newer lic, i did floral, cleaning to my own country crafts. but led me to automotive flipping industry. i grew up in auto racing, artist painting and repair/detail etc. Though not my preferred thing, I know I'm better then many I worked with or hired. I expect only the best/equal to what I'd do. Lol. I'm also a tat artist. How long does that nail corner stay stuck? Or does it lift up in a col weeks?

I've always thought about doing gel on my toe nails as well but considering how long it takes me to do my fingernails with gel. Ah, it would take me forever I wonder how long gel polish would last on my toes, considering normal nail polish will last a good few months. Hm. I'll have to give it a shot next time, for sure. Edit: Someone else mentioned it already but not having full feeling in your feet is oftentimes diabetes or just circulation related in general. My late mother had type 2 and she'd always complain about her feet swelling and not feeling things in them, so she'd have to go to a spa for an essential pedicure. I would highly suggest getting it checked out with a doctor to make sure it's nothing terrible

Fabulous absolutely brilliant. Thank you that tool around the cuticle area is huge and then using the Accu gel is huge to me. Myself my daughter my granddaughter we all like having nice toenails personally I haven't had real toenails in years. It's not a fungus nobody knows what it is hereditary. Anyway my poor granddaughter had to have surgery on both of her big toes so now she's all terrified to do anything with her toes this is brilliant I'm sending it to her they have gel polish in a in a LED lamp so maybe this will help her out thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. Also my daughter has gorgeous toes and she gets hers done so anyway thank you love it God bless

It's definitely because I did ballet so many years _(and you cannot have average-length toenails in pointe shoes or else you do damage your nail bed, your nail gets dark, sometimes black and falls out and it's a horrible sight. It's not that painful, but it's so ugly and dancers already have ugly feet although TBH all feet are ugly in my opinion. Those parentheses are so far from each other, they take more than half the comment's space and it's getting worse by the second I'll stop now, _ but I still cut my toenails super short, I couldn't handle having toenails as long as Kirsty's, so I literally cannot imagine Fay's.

No sensation is the first sign of diabetes neuropathy. I pray you don't have that but if you are already a diabetic you should know better. I do my own toenails but I can't see him anymore so I don't do very good. Say that's right I am extremely visually impaired that's why I call myself blind in Idaho. Matter fact it won't even give me rascal I qualify for a free Rascal and they won't because of my vision. However I have a golf cart that I do drive on the sidewalks and nobody bothers me but it's broke down and I have no help I'm all by myself now that's okay I got you

I love the toe separator trick I find the toe separators that you buy painful they make my toes cramp but the paper towel should fit better and not cramp. I feel Adam's pain. I have chronic ingrown toenails on both big toes after I dropped a kayak on them and broke the matrix. I can't afford to get the surgery done under general anesteric and local doesn't work on me so every 10 weeks I see a podiatrist to cut my nails in a specific way to stop them growing in.

Your hair so long and pretty You done your toes so pretty and neat don't know why I would think different I mean your the best nail artist for goodness sake. We are so ashamed to show our tootsies much less the process of a pedicure, we make it so taboo because we know there are some freaky folks out there. Poor Faye you make sound like she has a complex and needs therapy, you have to be friends or she'd come after ya like that wasp lollll.

I've always wondered, do you (or any techs out there) have any horror stories about doing toes? My parents always had extremely chronically smelly feet and when I was younger I would say I wanted to work in a salon and my mother would say You have to get up close and work on people's smelly feet And it HORRIFIED me as a child. Going into teaching now but always wondered if that really was problematic for nail techs.

Id guess your feet are maybe a US size 6? Give or take a half size. I totally hate my feet, Ive broken 9 of 10 toes, lost all 10 nails at least once, so theres some weird shapes going on XD but thank you for doing a video on toenails too, its definitely helping me with my fins. I mean feet XD I call them find like swimming fins because theyre a US 11, aka huge

I used to get ingrown toenails, I had them permanently removed on my big toes when I was 16 without me wanting them gone forever (parent had the final say) and I've always wandered if I could put fake nails on them, like acrylic etc, does anyone know if that would be safe? It's hindered my confidence so much that for the past 5 years I've not worn open toed shoes: ///
