I've been meaning to come in here and give you some extra info on silicone mold material. You don't need to use the clone-a-willy kit to get the silicone casting material. I buy various types of casting resins and silicones from Reynold's Advanced Materials. Also - I bet there's a way you could cast another silicone hand and have the fingernails actually come out hard - by inserting thick plastic nails into the mold before you cast the silicone - kind of like casting the nails in place. It would take a great deal of planning - but it would work. Heck, you could even make the nails out of metal if you chose to. There are casting resins that might be more appropriate for what you need. Perhaps make the entire hand from silicone, but make the fingernails and front fingertips from a harder resin - you could cast metal rods into the back portion of the fingers - and then add the hard resin front parts later. I know it sounds confusing - but there are way to make this happen. I love a good challenge - and I love that you've experimented with this. You are a fantastic artist, Kirsty - you can TOTALLY figure this out Love it

Love you Thanks for all the vids. I learn from you ALL the time. Hoping you can help me out with something. I need to do a fill on my own nails. They're acrylic. I have a bit of lifting happening in my cuticle area. I can file it down, but it seems the more I file, the more lifting I get. Should I start from scratch or is there something I'm missing? It happens to me everytime I need a fill and I normally get frustrated and start from scratch. I need the practice so it's fine, but it's hard on product doing a full set every couple of weeks. What can I do?

kirsty you know the 5 tip display stands you get(glitter planet) have 2 holes in the top of each post, they are designed for tips that have 2 little prongs on the back so they sit on the display without the need of blue tack. so im thinking if you found those tips you could make 2 holes in each willy nail bed (lol lol lol) and then the practice nails would sit better on them, or you could permanently glue them into the holes and just efile product off as you would an infill? i will see if i can find the tips im on about xx

So i have a client that her thumb nails are forever just lifting I dont know what to do to get her nail to stay on it pops almost just like yours did on the practice hand i prep the nail the same as i do everyones and never have problems with her other nails or any of my other clients do you know what could be causing this she has been to other salons and ran into the same problem

U can definitely work on it to practice, and the best part is u don't have to fight to remove them once ure done Like with the practice hand I used in school 2006? U had to soak them off or nip it off, and I hated it. I actually liked using the nail printout page inside of a plastic page protector sheet better. which is really saying something I need a clone-a-willy
