Whats wrong here is that you don't owe anybody money for not giving a tip. i rarely give any tip and it's normal, but that's maybe because i live in one of the most if not most expensive country.

She broke up what sounded like a great relashionship beacuse she coulnt handle the fact he was tipping 8-10% its not like he's not tipping at all.
