In some countries, slurping the noodles is a bad manner when eating but some(not sure if japan is included) it is sign that food was really good and a way to show the chef that you are enjoying the food.

don't worry about slurping noodles in most Asian countries it is considered rude not to slurp noodles as it is an insult to the chef not to do so.
