I make it about twice a month, its also my favorite dish of all time. While I am a huge fan of Julia Child's method, my favorite is Anthony Bourdain's. I saw it, I can't remember what I saw it in, but I saw it in a documentary. this was when the guy was real young and impertinent. and I adore the video (I wish I could find it) and the meal as prepared by him. I'll look for the recipe at some point and post it. Primarily it all takes place in one pot. Which makes it a lot more efficient. Imo

WOW! That's it? That's the famous dish? Well, it's fame is well deserved. What an incredible meal to eat. It's real cooking. The real deal. If I were to ever make this it would take me a couple of days. There would be meltdowns and the dog and cat would run and hide for hours. But what a magnificent creation. So rich and hearty and an event. An event at the table. Bravo.

I made Boeuf Bourguignon once. it was a LOT of work. not cheap to make. took a LONG time. and the final result was not that spectacular. Here's a much cheaper, faster, and tastier version. get a quarter pounder with cheese and eat it with a bottle of wine.

Looks great! But is there a benefit to keeping the onions separate from the stew until serving? Why not just throw them inn with the rest once they've been browned in the pan?

Ok, you can't make a comment like Julia Child's recipe completely blew my pants off without having your pants blown off. At least, you can have a fan blowing on your pants

I made this yesterday and it did (in fact) blow my pants off. Thanks for another great recipe, Babish, I really enjoy your videos and the concept behind them!
