Great video Sally. I have a brand new cast iron skillet just waiting to be used, lol. But I also have several others that were never seasoned. Didn't even know it was a thing until a couple of years ago. So unfortunately they have rust on them. I had been taught as a young girl to always take a cleaning product called Comet to my pans/skillets to get them clean/get the rust out. So what do you recommend I do because I really don't want to throw those skillets out?

If anyone uses dish soap, please be careful. My late mother in law would always use dish soap and not oil her pan, and her family would complain about how the food didn t taste quite right, the food would stick, etc. If you do have that problem, salt, hot water, and steal wool, or something that can scrub well, will take that out. Dry on stove, rub in shortening, and bake in oven to reseason.

Sally, a lil' request, could ya show us how to make Blueberry Pastry! I had one last day: silky Whipped Cream with bits of Blueberry, sandwiched between two thin slices of Chocolate Cake - MMM! Would be overjoyed if you could try it out! xxxx

This was so helpful! How big was the skillet that was used for the cookie so I know how much to make it smaller by because I only have a small skillet but I still want to make this.
