So many negative comments in this recipe, I made this today for the first time and it was such a success, everyone loved them. Im happy I have leftovers for a snack tomorrow lol Waiting for that amber color can take a while, but you literally dont have to do anything, dont stir so just leave it alone for a while. I left it there for what seemed like forever but I was in the kitchen anyway so I just kept my eye on it. Once it reached the amber color I turned it off and added the butter (I used earth balance. I immediately poured it on my popcorn and stired, be quick in this step and then spread it on the cookie sheet. As for the pans and where youre mixing the popcorn with the caramel, just add boiling water and let it sit if its a bowl and just boil water in the pot you made the caramel. It was super simple and delicious You all should give it a try

Great video. I made this tonight but it was a complete disaster. First of all I used microwave popcorn. That was my fault. The popcorn was WAY too salty. Secondly I overcooked the caramel. I think you're supposed to take the sugar solution off the heat once you add the butter. Otherwise it just keeps bubbling and bubbling until like me you overcook it. I'll have to listen to her video again however I don't think she specifies what to do when you add the butter. Also, you don't need all that water. The more water you use the longer it takes to evaporate and caramelize the sugar. Good luck

Followed the directions and it worked perfectly for me on my first try. Add sugar and water to the pot, swirl it around a bit to dissolve, set the flame to LOW and patiently wait for it to boil down until amber colored. Then shut the flame off, stir in the butter until nicely dissolved (work quickly) and then pour over popcorn in the same pot you popped it in, evenly distributing the caramel, and it spread out on a baking sheet to cool. It was delicious. I just wish I'd had peanuts and cashews to sprinkle into the caramel before pouring it over the popcorn. Homemade Poppycock. :-)

Omg I can see why people fail making this recipe. Im had the pan on to high and then I added the sugar and bam in a quick second my kitchen was black LOL and full of smoke I tried a second time and I was successful She does not say how long to wait before adding water to the sugar or how hot to get the pan. Also her ingredients turn into caramel right away so most of us think its a quick process. Overall its a good recipe I had to add some vanilla and salt to the caramel mix. Thank you Jemma

Making caramel is indeed not easy for beginner, either your sugar is not brown enough or you burnt it. But what I can assure you this recipe is legit delicious when you manage to make it. I succeed after 2nd try, my first try, the sugar didn't turn brown enough. I like this recipe because you don't have to bake the popcorn in the oven afterwards. Most of the recipe I found need to put in the oven.

I've been waiting around 2yrs for it to turn brown. Is that normal? Did anyone else wait this long? My wife left me because all she wanted was popcorn and to watch the first harry potter movie but now she's gone, she's watched them all and im still waiting for the sugar to turn brown. Any advise would be appropriated.

I put oil then the corn. After getting the corn soaked with oil, just pot lots of sugar and let it pop. I do it with medium-high heat. You have to watch out for it to not stick and not burn. And thats it. Easy. It sure doesnt look good like this one but the tast is the important one.

I made this twice and it was a fail each time. The sugar water mixture does not reach the amber colour no matter how long I wait. Eventually I add the butter etc pour it over and it jus looks like and tastes like a sugar water mix on popcorn. Seems like 100ml water is too much.
