I was educated on PCS in LA by the awesome guys on the South Philly Food Truck. I had always ordered provolone cheese on cheesesteaks because I thought it was a real cheese, a higher quality product than Cheese Whiz. so I thought. So I saw the truck near USC one evening and asked them what they recommened. they said you must have it wit wiz! , which is cheese whiz so that's what I did; even if I was not convinced at the time that I was makin the right choice. Those guys were absolutely correct. It was fantastic and I will never order a PCS without cheese whiz ever again if given the choice. Regular provolone is pretty bland in comparison. Thanks South Philly Truck! and no I do not have any ownership in that food truck, but I certainly stop there every time I see it in Los Angeles. I have never had the privilege to try one in Philly. maybe someday.

I had a Philly Cheesesteak in a pub in Coventry England. if was served on an I toasted roll with raw onions & NO cheese. When I asked, I was told that it doesn't come with cheese. Seriously must have looked dumbfounded for a full minute until I started laughing. After a 10 minute lesson by me on what a Philip cheesesteak is, they finally conceded and brought me some cheese. mild white cheddar, unmelted & shredded, in a plastic cup like you'd get a side of mayo in. Unbelievable. The same place served -buffalo- wings with a bbq/teriyaki blend. Just don't order American style food in the UK. Get some fish & chips and you'll be sure what you're gonna get lol

Being from Philly these are nowhere near a cheesesteak. Please people you heard it here officially. A Cheesesteak consist of a long hoagie roll, you can use steakums, ordered precisely like this: salt, pepper, ketchup, mayonnaise (some people like yellow mustard on it too but I don't, fried onions and you can opt for pickles, banana peppers, mushrooms maybe. NO CHEESE WHIZ! American or Provolone cheese are staples. #northphilly #cheesesteak

Thinly shaved ribeye (just like a good burger fat content is crucial) and cheese that isn't stringy, onions if you like them. thats it folks. its not complicated.

The cheese disintegrated in the first one! It was dry as all hell and that bread was wayyyy too hard/toasted. My Teeth hurt just hearing them bite through it
