Viewers of Budget Eats have asked time and time again for June to do a shopping video on where and what she buys for her spice cabinet, but the truth is. there is simply too much to pack it all into one neat video. Having said that, a good place to start scratching the surface of delicious flavor agents is June's favorite Chinese pantry staples. There are spices, condiments, and toppings that she's always had on hand, for good reason: they are versatile and can be added easily to any dish not just Chinese ones! for a bump in savoriness. And if you stick around to the end, you'll get to see a bonus round-up of her top three favorite Chinese packaged snacks

When I was growing up Accent was the US accepted MSG then somewhere down the line they started screaming MSG is bad for you. But not salt in general and it was pulled from any foods it was found in. I lived in Japan for a year and went to Costco and saw a 20 lb bag of MSG look more people live past 100 in China and Japan and MSG has been there the whole time. Makes ya wonder who is really being silly about it ( The US per usual.

I don't really like cooking with xiao shing wine Then proceed to hold up nearly empty bottle, lol. I actually love using just a little bit in stir fry, you don't taste it but it's that little-something which makes it taste like what you get at a restaurant.

I speak Korean and understand English so I appreciate June teaching me about Chinese ingredients and what their names mean. Can't wait to get some of them and try for myself.
