That rub looks really interesting, and I haven't stabbed any chickens recently. I've gotta try it.
I use wood skewers. They're round, but they (usually) stick well enough the stuff doesn't spin on them. And they're cheap and you don't have to wash them.

The color on that chicken makes it look soooo good. My great aunt used to add cumin seeds to her white rice and it was a nice surprise biting into a seed with a spoonful of rice. Yummy!

that's a great tip with the shape of the skewers, when i make them, the meat and veg are always rotating and i never considered why, but now i know, thx: -)

Update: The seasoning rub was great, nice an spicy as I like it. Sabrina (wussy) thought they were too hot lol. Good thing I held off on the jalapenos.
