I first ate at Max's more than 20 years ago. It was my first time in Manila and I was looking forward to eating at Max's. I loved the Max's fried chicken the first time i ate it. It was in Max's Baclaran. A few years later Max's opened its first branch in our city in Southern Mindanao. I was so excited to eat at Max's again. It was a few feet from my office. Too bad it was not the same Max's Fried Chicken I ate earlier in Manila. Chicken tasted different. It was too dry and bland too compared to the one I ate at its Baclaran branch. The service was so slow and sad. Waiters and even the greeters don't even smile or greet its customers with consistency. The first Max's in our city closed after a few years. A few years later it opened again in another location. I was looking forward to trying Max's again. Sad to say the chicken was not the Max's chicken I was used to. The service is so so slow. It looked like the waiters and cashiers are not trained in proper customer service. I don't mind if a product is way expensive compared to other fried chicken restos, but our local Max's chicken and customer service is way below fastfood standards. To think Max's is more of a casual dining resto. I expected more from its customer service and main product. I also travelled back to Manila and ate at the same Baclaran branch. The chicken was way better and service was ok compared to its provincial branches. I guess Max's needs to focus more in handling its provincial locations.

Max's Fried Chicken is a very good restaurant. I love the chicken with the dinner rolls. A good salad and soup with it. I like the noodles or french fries with it instead of rice. The chicken is cooked simple. Not greasy like KFC or other chickens like Jolibees or McDonald's. Tasty chicken. I use Knorr seasoning on it with ketchup and lea and perrins worscheshire sauceReal owner of first Max's Fried Chicken in Scout Tuason in Quezon City is a fellow by the name of Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford University Graduate. Now a corporation Max's Group of Companies owned by several companies and run by several people. Company was founded by Milagros Basa, Leticia Zamora and Carmen Zaragosa. Board of Directors are: Sharon T. Fuentebella as Chairman of the Board, Robert F. Trota as President, CEO and Executive Director, Dave T. Fuentebella as Director, Jim T. Fuentebella as Executive Director and Chief Marketing Officer. Plus others.

I understand that Maxs has nostalgic value for many Filipinos, and thats great because its origin comes from the great Filipino-American relationships built at the time. BUT a lot of Filipinos in Philippines dont go to Maxs for the chicken lol! Strictly speaking on the chicken; it is average, at best! Para sa style ng manok mas gusto ko sa ORIGINAL SAVORY (Banawe St)hehe (NOT CLASSIC SAVORY, they are different. I wouldnt bring my non-Pinoy friends to Maxs to introduce/wow them with their chicken. Sa States, ng mga Pinoy na pagkain tikman Gerrys Grill. Thats a good Filipino chain that does justice to the food in the States. Also, Maxs DOES NOT have consistency across all chains. Thats where they lack the most.

I'm a Filipino American living in Las Vegas. The fried chicken is not the same taste as when I was growing up in the Philippines. The Las Vegas branch can not maintain the quality and taste of that authentic Filipino taste. It is overpriced for the food that you get. The servings are small and the staff is not hospitable. The only reason that I went there was the childhood memories. I been there once and my dinning experience was pretty bad. I do not recommend this max restaurant there are better and tasty Filipino restaurant in Las Vegas.

I love max's in the Philippines they had the best crispy pata I have had and I tried a bunch of places. the fried chicken is also amazing and sizzling tofu. Im from vegas and i been scared to try the max's out here due to it being on our local news segment called Dirty Diners. with the price range also being high here in las vegas I rather go to places like d'pinoy joint or tinas. overall max's is awesome in the philippines but the one in las vegas has to prove that its worth the price if not its just another pinoy nostalgia money maker.

u dont just order the regular fried chicken on maxs, your ORDER A HALF SPRING CHICKEN AND EAT IT BY YOURSELF, plus garlic rice, ultimate combination. Plus camaron rebosado on the side. The secret is, mixing the wosterchiere sauce and hot sauce in a separate sauce pan and using it on their chicken. THATS how u properly eat at maxs, knowing the secret sauce. (Bonus, you mix the sauce eiht the c9mplementary kamote(sweetpotato) fries)

I haven't been to the Philippines in 25 years but when I was in kindergarten back in the 80s my mom would pick me up from St Joseph's and we'd go to the original Max's for lunch/dinner. I remember playing with the big koi fish at the ponds and dining al fresco. One of my happiest childhood memories. I wouldn't be surprised if the chef was working in that same kitchen back then. I cannot wait to try this again.

I'm glad Max is doing well but their idea of not evolving will be their downfall. Filipinos now are diverse with tastes that span the globe. They're making more healthier choices. Their target customers are getting old. People keep going to Max for sentimental value but like other Filipinos here I haven't stepped into one ever since I switched to a plant-based diet and I never miss chicken.

Max's isn't the only giant around hereClassic savory - A good competitor against Max's. This chain has a lot of history. It first opened in the oldest chinatown in the world (Binondo Manila. That's why it serves a lot of good Filipino Chinese dishes, BUT is also famous for its whole fried chicken with gravy. NOODLES and CHICKEN yum
