Design and usability guru Dan Formosa returns to evaluate and improve upon 5 gadgets designed to help with the most important meal of the day. Watch as he tests each breakfast gadget, putting them through the gauntlet while weighing in on what works, what doesn't, and what he'd do to improve their design. saturnianali8r: I've actually wanted a bagel guillotine for a while now. Something he neglects to mention is that the knife slides through easily with fresh bagels, but with slightly older bagels that are a lot harder (Once I get them cut I can spray them with a water bottle and put them in the toaster and they're just like new) they are also harder to cut so more danger of cutting yourself.

Look so lets talk a min. Food is best enjoyed savored. I dont need a speed test to go on a journey. Otherwise I probally don't really care for what I'm eating.
With that cereal bowl you could really savor every bite of corn flakes in sheer ecstasy. Set up a movie, have a cereal party and vibe with your friends. You'll never have to worry about a single dissapointing bite.
I'll forget the fact its a single use gadget just to live my life a little more fully this time.

My bf and his dad both leave crumbs in the butter when it s left out in a butter dish to be served with a knife. I think the butter dispenser could have a use-case here, as it would prevent them from putting a knife in the butter and getting crumbs in it. Basically, I can see this being useful as a butter protector

I've had one of those bagel guillotined for about 20 years. I've sliced my hand pretty good when cutting bagels in the past and use this one all the time. The bagels here in CO certainly aren't as big as they were back in NY.

Dan, Dan, the gadget man! I have Rhumatoid Arthritis and am always looking for things to help me do stuff independently. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. But this is a much needed resource for those who are disabled.

I remember there was an attempt to make a cereal bowl to stop soggy cereal on Pitchmen with Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan. The one issue they kept running into is trying not to make the bowl look like a dog bowl

Reason for the manual juicer over the electric- The electric one he uses is 100. The manual one is 20. The manual one also advertises itself as being for camping or travel when you would not have electricity.

I haven't eaten cereal in over a year, but when I'm inclined to again, I'll grab that fancy cereal bowl. Would prefer ceramic, though. Not a fan of plastic bowls.

I love these videos, but I m left wondering why he gave the bagel slicer a 4/5 on effectiveness if it took more than three times as long as a knife.

I was missing one of these videos, I have a very good soap holder and was thinking what he would think of it, its like a leaf shaped funnel.
