Not that I am opposed, but I have heard that it is a No-No to baste with any marinade the raw chicken has been in. Rather reserve a little from the beginning prior to the cross-contamination and baste with that? Beats me? I have always basted with the used stuff and had no issues.

White miso = sweeter and has a less earthy flavor but still has a good amount of its own _umami_ which is a savory flavor; it is more flexible to say the least. The darker the miso the more flavor or the more umami it has. Other miso bases are also spicy or more salty/savory.

Oh I bet that marinade would make an awesome sauce for pan-seared chicken thigh strips or oven-fried wings. I don't have a yard in which to place a grill, so those might be my best options for trying that marinade.

Are there any rules of thumb for brushing with the same marinade that raw chicken was in before? I know it's getting more time to glaze but it seems like it could be dangerous if it isn't given enough time to cook up.

A little rain ain't nothin' I've grilled out in 18F weather while it was snowing. Power was out & I was hungry & had already marinated my meat the night before. was no sense in letting it go to waste. LoL

Watched this vid, and couldnt wait to try it. Chicken is currently snoozing in the fridge till tomorrow. Thank goodness the Michigan weather seems like itll finally be cooperative for grilling.
