Ttoday's challenge is to make the most amazing sandwich using shrimp. Get this thing right in the show. Stop, but get it wrong. It's like eating inside of a golf ball. Give it up for Matt first off, warm, welcome for Mona and finally Tyler, right, are we ready? We're ready. Che. Yes, audience. Are we ready? You're 20 minutes starts now, so this is a big one, right? Shrimp, get this right? It's a show-stoper. Get it wrong. And it's absolutely in edible. I shrimp To me. So, and, you know these things are sweet, they're beautifully caramelized, but more importantly, it really does elevate a sandwich, especially with shrimp. Right, my darling, how you feeling? Oh, I'm feeling amazing. Great by the way. Thank you. I got my wings on For everyone. Tell me about the sandwich. What are you doing? A creole shrimp, gumbo sandwich is amazing. How you cooking the shm? It's going to be saute, and I'm going to saute with love. Let that sandwich fly. I'm going to let it fly. Gordon, it's going to be good. You're going to love it. What How you going to cook these? Shrimp? Well, I'm going to blend them up. First, kind of make a patty, kind of like a shrimp, like a shrimp cake. You know, I love that. Take on a Mississippi slug burger. The first ever world record, I sat. I love that. So, we're going to make it happen. You're a recipient of multiple world records, right? You eat so much. How can you stay so thin? What's the secret? And it's a full-time job. That's everybody thinks the hard part to eat the hard part to work it off. I love that. I can't wait to pop in and see how this thing's going. Good luck Got it right. Where's Tyler. This guy used to be a professional chef. Tell me about the sandwich. What are you doing? A Nordic-inspired Skagen sandwich? It's my take. I'm, I love doing Central European and Northern European foods. And, you know, we only got 20 minutes. Not not three days. What are you planting there? What's in here? So, that's going to be citrus stock to the shrimp. Wow, man, this is technical. We're going poach the shrimp ice bath, it. Love it. And then from there, dress it in a very nice herbaceous sauce. Love that. And what's the bread? How we going to. S me, do thing together. It's going to be a toasted, bri toasted and clarified butter. That's going to have the crunch that we're looking for. It's going to be great. Okay, confident you can win this one. Yes, chef. 5 minutes gone. 15 minutes to go.come on. Give us some love guys. Keep it coming. Yeah, come on. Thank you. Okay, be gentle with your sausage. Always. That's rule number one. These knives are amazing. They don't have these kind of knives in Texas. I tell you that now. Mona, she's good. I'm very concerned about Matt. To be honest, to have my face sandwiched between two slices of bread. I caught it. I've still got it in the bag, but you have to be mindful. You know your competition, don't underestimate them. Years of cooking professionally prior to this, I've gotten very comfortable with a knife and especially too little things. Your chives being at a nice cut chef's going to be looking for stuff like that, right? How's this going coming along? Well, chef? Uh,huH you understand the heat of the kitchen, cuz. You're a professional chef and you, yeah. And what got you into cooking first? Who who was the first big influence? Oh, medic. Jesus, one rice kid. Hold it out. One one banded chef, and I'm good to go. Yeah, but put it in there. Just get medic, please look after him. Just one W and I'm, or maybe a glove on quickly. Medic. Yeah S minutes to go. Tyler, dude, sh, slow down. Your girlfriend. Never tell you bloody hell. So, you're making a almost like a sort of patty, right? You blend it up? What's in there? Yeah, so we got, we got, obviously shrimp, some chives, some onions and cornmeal. It's a, it's a depressiona burger. Where any, put any protein in there Some cornmeal? It cost the slug back in the day. You said it. Oh, gotcha. So, it's a depressing burger or depression It's a depression. Oh, depression. The story, they cost the nickel back in the day. Love that. Love that. Love that. But using great shrimp, right? What? You seasoned it with? Just some salt and pepper. Simple? Yeah, I, we've got some mustard to go on top, some some pickles and some onions. How do we get into World championship eating? Where was the first moment that actually started? I got paid $1,000. Eat some lob all. So after that, you can't quit and you eat very fast. The what's the world record for hot dogs World record for hot dogs, I think is about, I think, 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes, 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Get a, get a little big. The bread as well. Yep. Bread and the hot dog. Dunk it in water. You drink it, just ice cold water. It's not pretty, but it's a competition. The drenaline gets you. I'm making some R, baby. You got to have R. If you're going to make a Louisiana favorite like this, you got to have room. Mona, let's go, girl.come on. You got this. I'm coming. Woohoo how are those shrimp. The shrimp are looking really good. Is that flow you put in there? I am. Yes. I'm doing it. The Creo. See, look at him. I like that. Z, those big muscles. He can do it. I'm making my root baby. We're putting a roo in a sandwich. We are putting a root. It's a gum. It's gumbo. Have you been smoking? I'm an idiot. Yes.come on about to get the slow burgers on the pan. I've cooked a lot of food, but it's never been like for taste. It's all quantity. So, we'll see if that translates today. 8 minutes to go.come on. Give him some love, 8 minutes to go. It's exciting. I mean, seriously that's looking good. Mona's a little bit sort of overwhelmed butter. Let me have my butter. She's doing a R. I would not personally put a R in a sandwich. H. I'm loving the idea of Tyler's. He's done like a water bath blast. These shrimps in citrus water and MT. Looks good. It's almost like a sort of shrimp burger. He's doing. Beautiful. So fingers crossed. And minutes away from crowning our idiot sandwich. What makes the great sandwich? Good bread? It has to be a little bit toasted. Nothing, soggy, and then the right amount of mustard And ma. Yes. Tyler has changed his up. He's gone from shrimp sandwich to a finger sandwich. He just slic his finger off. I know. And that's my mom. What? Mona is, my mom. What? Mona is your mom? Sh, mona is your sister. No, it's my mom. That's my. That's my daughter. Okay. I gotta cook. I gotta cook. You must be very happy. You guys go play. You have an amazing mom. Thank you, honestly. Has she ever made this sandwich for you? No, she hasn't. Is she guessing this or is it She's improvising. That's how you got to do it. Is it legit? It's legit. It's a method to her madness. For method to madness, oh, can you hear that? Sizzle? Can you smell the aroma 5 minutes to go, guys? Congratulations. An amazing daughter, by the way. Thank you. Miss Paris is her name, is that way she was conceived. Yes, but I'll tell you later. Was it on top of the Eiffel towel or under? No, it was the Paris cafe in Detroit. Paris cafe, detroit. Of course it was my boots. Okay, slug burgers are cooking though. I just got to get this toasted. I have the garnishes cut, so we might make it. Hopefully we're 3 minutes away. Give him some love. Everybody.come on. I'm not happy with my own cut. Sorry, you extra. 5 seconds, cuz. You're missing a finger. 3 minutes is not much time. It's very intimidating to cook for Gordon RAM. Yeah, I don't cook nor I cook hot dogs, right? Matt. We, good? Yep. We're good. I just love the way you're focused. Just sort of like this sort of You are in the zone. Young man. It's going to be a beautiful dressing. It's going to be bright or bit. It's going to be perfect for. I love that. Just keep your fingers out the sandwich, please. Tyler, we need those things. What's in here? That is the gumboo. It's good, I told you. It's good. It's burn, burn. I'm feeling really nervous right now. 30 seconds to go.come on. Yes. I told you he was going to love it. He was going to cry. So, good T. You got to start assembling my man? A presentation plate where 10,9.8,7.6,5.4,3.2, one, W give it a round of applause. Ladies and gentlemen, come on. I'm happy with my sandwich. I don't know if I'm going to become a sandwich maker chef in the near future. I'll stick to the eating, right. Let's start off with Matt. Now that looks beautiful. It's really simple. It's just the shrimp cornmeal, some onions, chives, some pickles, mustard, some red, red vinegar onions on top. Ready? Ready 1, two, 3. Go. Oh, that's good. Mom's watching. Mom's watching. Listen, I love the acidity. I think what you're done with the shrimp. It's beautiful. I was a bit nervous when you started blending them up, but there's a really nice flavor there. PR. Good job. It's always interesting to me that a professional chef: someone who's trained many many years in the culinary arts, perfecting their pallets and techniques: can lose to a professional eater who admittedly doesn't cook much. What are all of those years of training for when any old joe can surpass you in cooking Some of the best restaurants in the world just thrive on good recipes and quality ingredients, not necessarily great chefs (as proven in Kitchen Nightmare turnarounds. Culinary school A sham! =p

Can we look at this absolute redemption arc this man has gone through The absolute smack talk has been a hallmark of Chef Ramsay, but he's proven time and time again what an amazing human he is, his humility in judgement is there, with the roughness around the edges.
Cheers to the participants, and Chef Ramsay not absolutely chewing everyone out. This was an awesome display of skill! Mona really deserves her own show, what a star!

Hexclaud are way over hyped pans. My 440l stainless and cast iron work just great for me. All knifes are that on sale on the market I just was never happy with, so I had a local blacksmith make a 6 inch damscas sutoko hybrid knife that i never have to sharpen cuz of the hardness i wanted it to be!

Mona did her thing, she showed up, she definitely brought the fun, flavor and entertainment. Mona, that sandwich looked delicious and beautifully crafted. Gordan, Mona didnt miss the mark, she needs to be crowned for her Idiot Sandwich. Love your shows.

Hypocrite Sandwich courtesy of Ramseyville
Two Ramsay's frozen meals on either side of Gordon's fat head and you have your Hypocrite Sandwich filled with great tasting hypocrisy and a money grubing, pompous, peckerhead

reply

Am I the only one who was really happy that Matt won He was the most humble and his sandwich was the most clean and simple. I feel like Ramsay genuinely liked his, and the others he cut them some slack
reply

I'm glad Matt stonie went the pan fried crab cake route for his sandwich, that's where my head went too.
combined with the creme fresh sauce from the chef's roll. would be a heavy hitter

reply

i'm confused. Is the point to make the worst sandwich, so you get the title idiot sandwich Also, more proof gordon is all about $$$, cuz no way in hell Matt made anything edible.
reply

I just HAPPENED to be in Vegas for the first time roaming the strip when they filmed this. I got so tripped out randomly seeing Gordon and Matt Stonie live

Hands down Mona’s sandwich looked the best! I love a big hearty meal it looked like it had tons of flavor and big so would definitely fill me up.
reply

Honestly, why do these people always have to dress like they just got off shift from a street hooker job, my god, decency is just non existent.
reply

When you get too comfortable around a very sharp knife and get cocky you make mistakes. Little humbling moment for the professional chef.
reply

The flight attendant looks ridiculous and whoever did her makeup should be sued literally it’s so embarrassing to even look at it smh
reply

That flight attendant has a massive bakery and yes she has her year's, but she's like the tequila. The More years the better
reply

Mere moments after saying how comfortable he'd become with a knife. Tyler nearly loses a digit. You can't make this stuff up.
reply
