They look great, but I would have stuck with chicken thigh over breast because the breasts tend to be drier and less savory. I also would have used a tenderizer mallet to spread it out a bit so that your chicken piece wasn't half the radius of the bun, not too much mind you or the meat will be too thin to give a really good bite on. if the thighs are too small you can always stack them when flattened out.

UNFAIR! People who really KNOW and LOVE fried chicken, especially breast meat fried and served on a bun, know the importance of MARINATING or BRINING the chicken for hours before you cook it! The best fried chicken sandwiches marinate their chicken in buttermilk. Gordon, you really blew it this time with this pseudo-competition. Next time, give them time to marinate their meat before breading and frying.

Hexclad is only good because of the lifetime warranty. If you don't follow the pre-use instructions the nonstick stinks and still sticks with certain products. Hwoo should just be making the sandwich and let chips fall where they may with that chili debate. Still fun to watch the more normal Gordon. Esmaralda should have won.

I loved the contest. As a cook, the Korean cook was hands down better than his competitors. His technique, flavoring, execution was hands down better than his competitors.
