Succotash is genius because it acts as the vegetable, the starch, the herb, the garnish, as well as a refreshing salsa (when cooled down and chilled) and/or a sauce-like component when an actual sauce isn't necessarily (because there's moisture in it, especially if it marinates overnight, etc. You really don't need much else when you have Succotash. it ticks all the other boxes in terms of components on a dish. Killing three or four birds with one stone basically. It's great stuff. Basically a North American spin on Ratatouille (but alot quicker and simpler, which has the same versatility in Mediterranean cuisines that covers all bases as components on a dish.

I am absolutely obsessed with Ramsay's personality. Apart from being an awesome chef whom I admire beyond words, he's got this amazing boyishness and playfulness that I adore. I've been cooking since I was six, an growing up, I've been watching Ramsay, but as of late, I've been binge-watching every season of Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef (both Jr, and adult, for the third time. I can't get enough.

Here's a production note: anytime there's a choice between a static shot of (admittedly delicious looking food) or a dynamic shot of Chef Ramsey's knife or other kitchen skills, there really shouldn't be a choice of which is the best shot to focus on.

When Gordon said 'succotash', I pictured lima beans and corn, like the canned stuff. His blows the canned stuff out of the water. He'd probably KO anyone who dared mention the canned succotash, and I wouldn't blame him one bit.

One of the the next recipe i want him to cook. Our very famous Chicken pork adobo Gordon Ramsay version.
I like his way of teaching his expertise in cooking based on his REAL EXPERIENCE, no buts or ifs.
I love it

I love your videos. They havr inspired me to cook more and broaden my dishes. The only thing is you show single serve cooking. How wouldnyou do this for a family of 5 or 6. Or even for people for a small get together.

Would LOVE to see Gordon live stream. And there is a massive list of ingredients and chat votes on each ingredient. Then they send them all down, life, he has no idea, has to make a dish out of it there on the spot.

The pork chop is the most disrespected piece of meat when it’s cooked by most people. If you don’t cook it right it literally sucks all the moisture out of your mouth. This looks amazing and I am doing this ASAP!

There is a very annoying high pitched beeping sound in the video, terrible to watch with headphones. I think its one of the devices or maybe the stove but at 4: 00 it gets so piercing I had to turn my volume down.

Gordon washing his hands: First, beautifully season both hands with the most amazing soap, then add just a touch of water. Lather, rinse and then literally dry with the most incredible cloth. Beautiful!

I remember Gordon trying and loving Mama Cherri’s corn succotash in one of the first episodes of Kitchen Nightmares in the UK. Still one of my favourite episodes.

I want to see Gordon's teaspoon! Bro uses quater of the bottle and calls it a teaspoon.
PS- that's exactly how I gaslight myself when using butter

There is no need to cut the fat like that. It makes it look awful when it's cooked as well. Just like there's no need to cook scrambled eggs the way be does.
reply

I thought I knew about cooking. Then I read book Forbidden Chef Secrets, and now I realize I had no clue. It’s wild how much we aren’t told.
reply

Are you ever going to do Kitchen Nightmares UK again It was more authentic without the dramatic reality TV sound tracks. The F Word was good too.
reply

Is no one going to say it ok I will fats not rendered enough and not charred sorry my friend give it a 4/10 just for the pork no hard feelings

Looks amazing!
Would be curious to see you cook a nice mushroom dish. There is a rising trend with Lion's Mane mushroom, a challenge!
