Made this last night and it was pretty good. I think I added too much wine and stock though so it was ever so slightly bland. next time I'll add a bit less and a bit more chilli to make the sauce more concentrated. For the record. I am LOVING Sorted Food and Food Tube! Changed the way I cook!

Correct me if I'm wrong, the dish seemed be more influenced by Italian cuisine. There aren't any beans at all, and I mean, once you take the cumin away, it could well be the Neapolitan sauce. Also, the way it's served really reminds me of polenta.

You should find that stewing beef is one of the cheapest cuts of meat. a little goes a long way in this dish too. You can always pack it out with more beans if you prefer. Otherwise, yep, chicken would work. But doesn't need as much cooking.

kudos to jamie for giving space to an awesome community like sorted, they really are great and talented. it feels like he's giving back a little bit of the luck and chances he got (and conquered) when he was at the beginning.

A stock cube? Gross. I realize that they taste better than they used to, but if it's a cube or paste it has way too much sodium. Buy Actual Beef Stock (not broth) instead, IMO

I really like Ben's cooking. But I just can't stand his friends around him. They aren't doing anything. And they are not amusing in any kind of way.
