Happy Monday everyone! He's a great way to start the day and start the week. Toasted Oats, Mango, Blueberries & Yoghurt from my new book: Oats fill us up and act as a slow-burning fuel plus they are high in fibre and the minerals phosphorus and magnesium keeping our bones strong and healthy. This is my latest video from my new Daily Jamie Vlog. I'll be posting a video everyday for the next few weeks about whatever I'm up to and giving you loads of great foodie thoughts, ideas and fun too. I'd love to hear what you think about this new style in the comments box below and the kind of stuff you want to see. Make sure you

3 minutes? Only if you food prepped toasted oats and stewed blueberries and possibly mango on the weekend. Otherwise this is a 30 minute faffing about the kitchen. Take it from someone who was forced to cook for a family since she was 6 years old and knows her way around the kitchen and most recipes. Jamie has a good palate and good recipes but his utterly unrealistic macho BS in the kitchen is coming from his privilege to never have had to feed the entire family, three meals a day, every day for decades, with scarcely any thanks at all, in addition to a real job and all the housework (otherwise known as male privilege and ignorance of what women s lives are really like. He should get some respect toward all the hardworking domestic cooks and at least be honest and realistic about the time and effort involved in his recipes, which is always considerable. I have never seen a recipe of his that was truly simple and quick, he should just give up the pretence. Oh, and ps. advising people to eat unripe fruit in order to lose weight is not just ridiculous, it s disrespectful and harmful. If someone wants to decrease the amount of sugar, they shouldn t eat a breakfast that s as loaded with carbs as this one. Try a vegetable omelette instead, ffs. Jamie is only getting more entitled, unreletable and annoying as years go by.

3 minutes? Really? You're just gonna stand there Jamie, look us in the eye and say in 3 little minutes! Are you mental? This breakfast took you like 15 minutes to prepare. Those blueberries alone took like 1. 5 hours you deceiving, evil man! How do you expect anyone to believe your time after you wrote the biggest lie in the history of mankind. 30 minute meals. Yeah right Jamie, 30 minutes! And what did you do then? You wrote another book. 15 minute meals! Seriously Jamie? 15 minute meals? Seriously? How far are you gonna push it Jamie? 2 minute meals? 4 second meals? Just drizzle some olive oil on a plate. mmmmhhh amazing. ok we're done! . Stop your lies Jamie! For the love of God stop with your lies! I bet he doesn't even have kids, that lier! its all made up. It's all inside Jamies, crazy, raving head. Get your act together James.

There are many wrong things with this breakfast. He even ruined the blackberries by adding some syrup. You mention that oats contain minerals. This is not entirely true. Oats contain potential minerals that need to be extracted. How do you extract minerals from oats? By soaking, and ideally, fermenting them for at least 12 hours (see fermented oats elsewhere. This removes phytic acid and increases mineral bioavailability. Otherwise, you won't absorb phosphorus and magnesium. Then you should add more fats, you need fats in the morning. Also protein-rich foods, unless you are willing to eat 100g of oats! And bananas should be eaten when they are brown. See how people in tropical countries eat them. Sugar in bananas do not cause insulin spike like your syrup, so it is fine to eat ripe bananas in moderation.

Great recipe, but silly health advice. The sugar present in a ripe banana doesn't magically appear, it broken down from polysaccharides present in the banana. And if you eat an unripe banana, the starch present will be broken down by enzymes during the digestive process to form the equivalent amount of sugar anyway. AND sugar present in fruit is absolutely nothing to worry about, fruit contains so much fibre and loads of vitamins and minerals that it is beneficial whether you eat it when it is more or less ripe. That kind of advice is likely to encourage people to throw bananas away as soon as they develop a few spots which is just wasteful and unnecessary.

I would argue the point about bananas. More sugar when ripened further, indeed, but also studies have shown there to be considerably more antioxidants as well. So, that makes the decision a little more complicated. This is similar to my everyday breakfast, which includes a half pint of blueberries (usually organic but WILD! now because of summer and Ontario, raw almonds crushed in a pestle and mortar, an organic mixed nut and honey granola cluster cereal and topped with organic cinnamon. Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for this!

Bananas should be eaten when they are ripe and have spots on them. Otherwise they will make you constipated. And it is best to eat fruit alone by itself on an empty stomach for best digestion. The sugar from fruits is not the enemy, processed sugar is the bad guy. I appreciate that you want to educate the people and this stuff is still much better than cornflakes and milk but still you are missing some crucial information here. But I love your efforts to educate the people!

Go to the coffeshop, get a croissant and an espresso or a cappuccino ordered shouting from the entrance for 2 euros and have it standing and reading the newspaper. Italian style is better ahahahah. I love your recipes jamie, but you've been in italy, I read your book, we are not very focused on breakfast, better go to jail one week than eating milk/yoghurt and cereals lol. just kidding I love your cooking. from 12 o'clock and forward

Hay Jamie Oliver slash food tube team: ) Jamie ive been such a massive fan of yours ever since I was 10. I have just watched this video and I never normally comment or even read the comments but this time I was curious so read most of them and it shocked me what people say, so I just wanted to say I loved the recipe ive never tried a green banana and am exited to try one! Completely wrong about the banana. Also, 'if you're watching your calories, if you're watching your weight. ' lemme tell you, that ripe banana isn't what's going to make you gain weight, I assure you. If the eggs and dairy were as healthy as you insist they are consistently, you wouldn't have to load it up with so much fruit and vegetable. The only thing you're feeding is wrong information.

Many years ago I heard (as a tourist) in Scotland that their morning oats-porridge is salted, in contrast to England - where they put sugar in it (they were very proud with the salting-way. It seems to me I have a lot to catch with modern British food, and I think I'll be happy to fill the (political/gastronomical/ historical. :) gap with your toasted oats, mango, etc. Thanks for uploading.
