Watch the full NatGeo series: Today we’re exploring Iraqi Kurdistan and the incredible city of Erbil! It’s a city with thousands of years of history that all surround the ancient citadel in the center of the city. Machko Cafe - We’re starting with breakfast at this amazing and historical cafe for the full Kurdish breakfast including lots of tea. Yassin Kebab - If there’s one place you have to eat kebabs when you’re in Erbil, it must be Yassin Kebab, loved by both locals and visitors, and known for serving some of the best kebabs in Iraq. After the amazing kebabs we walked around the old center of Erbil, had some Kurdish Coffee (made from the terebinth tree, tried some Iraqi tree gum, and couldn’t miss some freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. Habeeb Kurdish Restaurant - Located on the famous Iskan Street food street, I was able to try some traditional Kurdish food including some amazing dolma! Iskan Street - Iskan street in Erbil is famous for its night street food and I tried a few different sandwiches and some of the best chickpeas ever! Erbil is an amazing city! Make sure you check out Epic Food Journeys on Nat Geo now: Follow for more food: T-shirts: Camera gear I use: (some of these are affiliate links and I will make a small commission from any sales)

this guy is the most repetitive human I have ever seen, every video . thousand of videos follow the same script . Over the top exaggerations, claims to love everything he puts in his mouth, repeating the same words in every video , its always Oh WOW , Amazing , creamy, and chase it with . EVERY video same stuff repeated ad nauseum and him eating with zero manners looking like a deranged lunatic . and EVERY single Thumbnail photo is the same with him and his mouth gaping open . every single damn video . the same. he seems to be a NPC stuck in an endless loop. also makes a point of saying how something is flaming hot , proceeds to eat it , adopts this lame look as he exclaims oh that is hot . so lame. just freaking wait until it cools down FFS, he does this in every episode. LEARN Mark freakin learn

They set you up with this title, there are no Kurds exist 1000 years ago specially in these areas, all of these primitive cave ppl came out of their caves in the late 14 centuries and migrated from north Iran caves to the other countries in the middle east, you are saying 7000 years ago, that made you lose a lot of your credential . your platform is been used either un consciously witch is bad or consciously which is really bad, you better focus on food and not on politics, once the Iran conflict done there will be nothing called Monkystan anymore

I wouldn't say New York had the best food on earth. It's in America where every meat has hormones and steroids added along with all the carcegens America also puts in its food. More salt and sugar than any other place on earth. America is just a pit of unhealthy food that is slowly killing it's population but Americans don't care because all they want to do is shovel as much food into their mouths as possible, and dam the consequences.

Hello Mark, how are you
I am Atta from Pakistan. I watch all of your vlogs and you make fantastic videos. I just have a small suggestion: it would be very helpful if you could also tell us the price of the meal after you finish enjoying it.
Its also helpful for who want to visit the same country or place u already visited.
Thank you, and please don’t mind my suggestion.

The war won’t get any better and won’t end anytime soon, will get a lot worse. They want Kurds to fight and are forcing them to. And iran will
Just level the Kurdistan in retaliation.
All that has been built by the Kurds in the last few decades will go back to zero unfortunately.

Hello Mr Mark!
it makes me happy to see in the kurdistan region, a few years ago I wrote to you that you should abslout go and try food from this giorafian when you have time and when it suits you best, but now see here. warm welcome to our country brother from another mother

Please don't say Iraqi chewing gum!
That's Kurdish Chewing gum! Kurdish people are really disappointed when Arab's name or words mixed in their language!
So I kindly ask you to change any Arabic's subtitle names for any video you record in Kurdistan.

Where is Kurdistan I know you been in Iraq If you mean the north of Iraq so 7000 Years ago it was calling Assyria not That name. The people there now are originally from Asia, Eastern Europe, and India but Unfortunately, they settled in the mountains of Iraq.

We are your followers and fans, and we have been waiting a long time for you to come to Duhok in Kurdistan, but you haven't come. Our city is beautiful and located between two mountains, and our food is delicious; we would have liked you to taste it.

Everything was fine until the 36th minute, but at that minute, he put raw meat into the cooked meat and tried to cook it. This is a great way to get poisoned. This is not a situation that can be overlooked. This method of cooking is not possible.

I have a flight from Germany to Erbil with Turkish Airlines on April 10. I really hope the situation will get better and that the war will be over by then, because I really want to go back to my hometown. I haven't seen my mom for six years.

I was just mentioning Erbil in my comment under one of your last videos and now you are there! Everything looks so incredibly delicious, but what amazes me the most is the chill atmosphere throughout all locations despite being busy.

Something about this guy cracks me for some reason. I dunno if it’s the way he explains things or talks but something gives me a massive ick. No offence love the videos just had to express it. Anybody feel the same
reply

thank you. this is my beautiful city there are lots of more food you could have tried like ( sawar qaraxarman ganmakuta quraw sarupe kfta doxawa tolaka kngr dumalan) and more importantly kurdish sheep yogurt
reply

19: 10 nothing iraqi about that gum.
It’s Kurdish, always will be. Just because Kurds don’t have a country doesn’t mean you can label their food and products as your own.
Biji Kurdistan.

reply

The Kurdish people would be much thankful if you could change the title of your video to Erbil, Kurdistan and not Erbil, Iraq. This is Kurdistan and it has been Kurdistan since forever.
reply

This Kurdish food does look delicious! It also looks very balanced and healthy. Meat and beans are great with rice, right. Gabanzos (chickpeas) I love too. Amazing dishes in Iraq.
reply

Yes, alot of history of slavery & zero innovation, they are considered gypsies / nomads of middle-east. Any kurdish food is NOT kurdish. Also, there is no such thing as Kurdistan.
reply

Just as a correction the gum you show up is Kurdish gum and it is harvested from natural trees in the mountains of Kurdistan through the hard work of our Kurdish people.
