This week Baz and Jamie are put to the test on two skills they really should know by now. Egg poaching and making a hollandaise. Who do you reckon will come out on top in this battle? Get your copy of A. M. Menu here

Put this one in the vs. skills hopper: Meatloaf and gravy. Gravy _must_ be based on a roux, but past that, it's anything goes. Meatloaf must contain meat mince of some kind, egg, and some cereal crumb as a binder (I like using rolled oats instead of bread crumbs. What meat, what egg, and what crumb is entirely up to them, as well as how they want to play with seasoning and structure. One version I've sampled had a layer of rosemary scrambled egg in the middle, and that was, as they say, stonkin'.

You know, just once, I'd like to see someone say fine, I'm out, and leave when one person monopolizes the stove, or otherwise tries to rig the battle. I know this is scripted and such, but it's a pretty tired bit by now for one person to basically say nope, you can't cook, so just lose quietly in the videos.

The grammar is driving me crazy, I'm sorry. Double plurals are really bad English.
It should be Kitchen Skill Battles NOT Kitchen Skills Battles.
You have car engines, not cars engines. Yes, they may belong to multiple cars, but the plural is implicit not explicit.

I love the difference between the classically trained cheffs way og making the hollandaise. I never bother to clearify my butter, i just try to not pour it in. I also dont bother with the waterbath and just do it in a saucepan in the hob.

Ultimate Battle idea - every time one of them tries to sabotage someone else, or otherwise make it virtually impossible for them to cook, they lose brownie points or suffer some other consequence.

I know they always give each other grief when they're in a cooking battle, but I really don't like it when Jamie becomes kinda/sorta actually 'mean' to the other guys. Even in jest. Play nice, Jamie!

Normals would never start a Holindaise with a vinegar reduction. A normal might not even know what that is. To do that from memory? Nope(Judgement rendered)
reply

When ben says 'its unfair to call these guys normals' barry confirms that statement by showing he is less than normal with the face he pulls

I liked it. but Im conflicted. This paints Jamie in a very bad light. Yeah, Jamie is doin the paintin but heavy editing couldve fixed that.

Normally I'm more a fan of Jamie than Barry, but he took it a little too far this time and I'm happy Barry won, despite his butter-mayo
