Malaysian here. Since when Thai people use agave in making Tom Yam soup? But its a good start for westerners to try more South East Asian cuisine. Try adding squid, crab claws, fresh shrimps, and mussels for a great seafood Tom Yam. Enjoy with rice vermicelli noodles as well.

I got really excited when I saw the title of the video but then stopped watching it as soon as the lemon grass hit the table. Not something I ever just keep at home or ever think buy. Back to eating my normal soups I always have every ingredient but lemon grass. meh

Tom Kha Gai: Lao to English translation is literally boil leg chicken. and this my friends is not traditional Lao Tom Gai but carry on Tasty. Ill eat it anyways cuz Im fat and American. And I love food.

Wait, are you telling me the chicken gets fully cooked in the soup while its simmering? Or did I miss something? It seems like the chicken would be really rubbery if thats the case.

FYI you should add the lime juice after turn off the heat, because itll be bitter from some essential oil on the lime skin. .We dont add any soy sauce or coconut milk in Tom Yum.

Love the recipe. Looks yummy. However, one MAJOR presentation suggestion: : Dont use white type/print over white (coconut milk) when providing ingredients and steps. Rookie mistake.

I know its part of the culinary style, but it really bugs me that a lot of Thai and Asian recipes dont brown their meat before putting it in soup. so much lost flavour

Actually we dont use chili poweder and garlic in this recipe and you can use red onion instead white onion or yellow onion. I hope everyone enjoy this wonderful recipe
