I Got Producers To Go Vegan For A Week Collin Morris: Im just gonna put this out there. reducing meat consumption is not going to solve the climate change problem. The problem with the cattle industry is the large amount of methane the cows produce. This comes from the cows consumption of a corn based diet. If you really care about the environment and want things to change, pressure large scale cattle producers to switch out the corn based diet with something that makes the cows produce less methane. PLEASE NOTE: I am not saying eating less meat is bad thing. Its actually really good for us. BUT consuming less of it is not going to solve the larger issue. Eating less meat to solve climate change is like treating the symptoms but not the disease.

I really like that you ended up buying them good vegan food because when most people hear about veganism they think veggies, tofu, vegan substitutes, and rice, but there are so may different things that are completely unique. Youd never find some foods unless you explored beyond the typical american diet. Fun fact: you can make any meal that you love and still make it vegan. Just take out the meat and dairy. Replace it with beans, lentils, edemame, tempeh, coconut or oat milk, and make vegan eggs with ground flax and water. Super easy and you dont even have to worry about fully cooking everything because there isnt any meat to make you sick

This was incredible. The recommendation to reduce enviro impact has never been to get every human to go 100% plant based; its to reduce animal-sourced consumption and production. This vid is so important because all of these folks have learned how and are now motivated to reduce meat and dairy and still feel satisfied and happy with their meals. Their behavior will in turn impact others and so on. This is the way to get people to consider a more plant-based diet--not with rigidity, but with positive and supportive experiences. Thanks for sharing this cool experiment

Why do they always make it seem like its hard and awful? Girl 1: cries because she cant have Starbucks. Starbucks has literally dozens of non-dairy options. Coconut flat white is literally my obsession. Other girl: cries because she cant have chocolate cake. Make or buy a vegan cake/brownie. there are tonnes available or theyre easy enough to make. And the guy eating just a salad? Bro, its not that hard to get yourself some actual protein so youre eating a proper meal. Im lazy, greedy and my husband eats meat and even I dont find it hard to eat vegan.

You guys its 2019 and you live in LA/NY. You know whats sad? The state of the environment. The fact that billions of land animals are getting slaughtered every year. You know whats not sad? Not getting to eat chocolate cake that one time because its made with dairy and eggs aka torture and death. You can still go to Starbucks and you meat isnt the only source of protein. Except for taste, theres no reason for us to keep doing this. And lets be honest, what your tastebuds feel for those 10 minutes isnt worth more than someones life or the planets future.

Sorry, but I just have to point this out, to clear up any confusion. You guys did NOT go vegan for a week. You are referring to veganism as a diet, but its more than that. Veganism is a lifestyle that seeks to reduce harm done to animals as much as possible. You did this for the environment, which would mean you went on a plant-based diet for a week, not became vegan for a week. Or, you went vegetarian for a week. (Vegetarians should not eat dairy and eggs by default, if they do, theyre called ovo-vegetarians, lacto-vegetarians or lacto-ovo-vegetarians.

But if all that leftover non vegan food from the other employees cooking videos is simply going into the trash AFTER already being purchased and financially supporting animal product industries they came from, why does it hurt to eat it? The damage has already been done might as well not let it go to waste as long as youre not the one who purchased the products and participated in the supply/demand of meat and dairy products. Hope that make sense

There was a wild vegan at my grocery store the other day. Came up to me like. Him: hey have you stopped eating the animals yet? Me: noHim: why not? Me: cause they taste goodHim: well my grandpa has Alzheimers and when you eat meat it builds up mucous on your brainMe: Alzheimers is hereditaryHim: okay. leavesMoral of the story. know your shit and dont try to scare me away from the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches.

If you just view animal products as food then of course youll be craving meat and stuff. But if youre really doing your research on the ethical, the environmental and the advantages on your own health (of course the diet needs to be planned) then you will never crave animal products again. The reasons are just too big. Even if the food would taste bad. What it absolutely doesnt. The future is vegan

I feel like even if you wont be vegan for the animals, do it for your future. Do it for the future of your friends, family, future kids, etc. Give people the chance to live a full life instead of dying sooner with the world in an extremely terrible state. Im a vegan for both the animals and my future. I want to live a full life and not die at 40 with a lot of stress, fear, hunger, and thirst(Im currently 18)
