For this IKEA hack, I was inspired by a cane media console I found on Pinterest. After some brainstorming, I knew I could easily recreate this console for a fraction of the price it was listed online for. Using an IKEA BESTA cabinet, I completely transformed it into the identical cane media console I had found on Pinterest with my own flair of course. While this project was more of a challenge, I love how it turned out!

I love this! finally for the first time in my life i have been interested in my own environment after surviving my mother's cluttered horder home! I have been watching milena ciciotti after i got into using Montessori with my baby at the time now that she's a toddler in need of space for her own Montessori wardobe and clear miminal structured environment i said enough was enough! i decluttered at least our own shared room and clothing of all the extra clothes my mum kept in there since she gave us this room to stay in until we could move with my husband (pandemic) i think having the empty wall to look at and the extra space for my own design options of some cubed shelving with rattan cubes i was really keen on stripping the wallpaper and realised i wanted to go full minimalism on the decor too i actually am so keen on this whole project for our room.
So throughout the video i was admiring the choises of plants and the beautiful muted pastel and deep colours especially the deep cyan green mint bed frame that matches our wall. I know the punt of the video was the hank but dang it i need to get on with the decor.

Very nice. Was pretty impressed. But while viewing the video, I came up with a suggestion. The unfinished back side of the door bothered me and I think using 1/8 or 1/4masonite, cutting them to mimic each door, painting them black and fattening them to the back of the doors would hide the rough cane. Just a thought.

This is a great bookcase for the price. Really easy to assemble MyseIf. Furniture I put some colored poster board behind it to spice it up, and it looks great. It's small enough for the space I had, and it stands sturdy. It comes with two brackets to mount to the wall, but you don't need them. I love it.

If you didn't like the tone of the wood finish on the console compared to your floor wouldn't the easier and cheaper solution have been to sand down the drawers of the media console and stain them with a different color?

I was thinking for alternatives on how to cover up plywoods edges, this gave me an idea to try out the flat cane spline to do it! Anyone tried it before, and how well does it look stained?
