Hi drew, I just watched your story. sadly I wish I had seen it when it aired. Because I too have had the same problem.
I'm able to sleep now within minutes of laying down!
After 5 yrs!
What happened is crazy, because it was a so easy!
I used YouTube for help. because like you I couldn't do the pills!
So when it got to where I felt like I was going to lose my mind. I came upon the guy who talks about manifesting.
Because I believed it work. got prove!
He was saying it could work on your health etc.
His daughter got rid of some bumps shed had on her face for yrs. until she manifested them away. n they were gone within 5 days!
He is famous. Wayne Dyer.
YouTube still post audios. since he passed away. But I decided to manifest falling asleep. by listening to his videos. I got better at it too. so now I go to bed at same time. put his video on set tv to turn off in 30 mins. Drew I don't remember hearing him for even 5 min. I wake up at 8 am feeling refreshed. Keeping same sleeping time is important.
Hope this helps you and everyone.
Plus. since I'm 72. my b/p has gone back to normal.
Also keep doing what you love. I'm back to normal. feels GOOD. .
If you'd like to talk to me. email me!

hey, lifelong insomniac here. for several years I was also a light sleeper and would wake up at the slightest sound. turns out I had. a lot of traumatic experiences happen and internalized anxiety. like I lived in a constant state of anxiety because I was in a really bad relationship at the time. and leading up to that, just the millennial package family trauma 101 special lmao. i turned everything around when I 1) ended my terrible relationship and cut out all the people that were bringing me down, 2) found my own identity outside of loved ones (like who I am as a person, not a sister, friend, daughter, etc) and 3) took melatonin and let it lull me to sleep rather than FORCING myself to be tired or stressing about not being tired enough to sleep. your food and exercise levels also help a ton, but that goes without saying. hope that helps!

i had a time in my life where i had sleep problems, and i had anxiety with it too. and now its a lot less. and i usually sleep good now. and ive never had any medicine to work for any mental type problems. and when ive been told that things are addicting or it takes a while to get into your system before it works. thats like the crazy time for me that i had frankly: addicting, and this it takes a while to get into your system sounds like part of the crazy part of the whole thing. and causes mor anxiety just thinking about it. its like no sleep, anxiety, and those medicine issues all go together. and ae a bad reminder of mental anxiety of some kind. i call them the head monsters. just tell the head monsters to go away. and pray to God.

Sorry to hear you're struggling with insomnia. Something that helped me with my insomnia was intermittent fasting and limiting my eating to a 4 hour window each day. My daily eating window ends no later than 5 pm, but I typically stop eating well before then. During my fasting window I only drink plain water, plain black coffee, plain unsweeten black or green tea (no lemon or added flavors. I didn't know it would help my insomnia, but after about a month of strict adherence to my fasting protical I noticed I was sleeping thru the night, which I hadn't done in over 20 years. I'd tried a lot of things, except sleeping pills and nothing worked. This was an unexpected benefit of fasting for me.

I am 71 year old woman. Ive had anxiety and depression my whole life. I am in recovery. Ive been sober since 1988 my alcohol and drug abuse was due to stuffing those feelings down and that obviously didnt help. I am so sorry youre going through this but you seem to have it under control, my belief system and God is what gets me through it. Have a blessed night stay well and stay healthy I live in Massachusetts so the weathers been horrific I havent been outside walking with my dog for over a week. When I walk outside I forget everything, I just breathe and walk with Otis

Hi Drew,
I love your personality and the gift you have for design. I am glad you spoke up and I want to tell you the two things that work for me.
- Give yourself grace! We live in a fast paced world and the demands are so many. Even this time you decided to take a break, is grace you are giving yourself.
- Prayer. Pray to start your day, pray out loud and let your concerns be known to God. I am not preaching religion, just a candid prayer time can help. Pray for your sleep and pray before you go to sleep. I will pray for you as well! Sending you hugs!

I came back to this video because I was having a sleep issue that I forgot about! I would wake up through the night and have to look at my phone for the time, if I didn't see the time I wouldn't fall back asleep. It was strange and went on for a few years. I changed jobs from a very stressful toxic one to a less stress and not toxic one and it helped so much. I also had to cut out caffeine altogether as any amount would keep me up.

After a few days of not sleeping, I become absolutely desperate. Its as if the only focus in my life is sleeping. Im retired, so I sleep at odd times now, but that can really interfere with my life and plans, and I never feel rested. Im glad to hear about the book and Im going to read it. Good luck with your journey. Hope you are sleeping better.

Have you considered going into the most remote area in the woods you can find without any devices to check on? Maybe for a few days to a week to help reset your body? Youre probably a super empathetic person that is just too connected to everyone and everything. You might need to disconnect periodically for your health. I wish you well.
