DIY Paper Clay Using Egg Cartons Hi, this is an easy paper clay recipe that only uses three ingredients: egg cartons, hot water and PVA glue. I know egg cartons can be used in all kinds of crafts as I've seen a lot of flowers and animals made out of them. However I didn't see as many people using the cartons for making paper clay. The egg cartons are already made from recycled paper so they are easy to tear apart and dissolve in hot water. I don't know an easier paper clay recipe. Take two 30 eggs cartons and tear them apart in a plastic container. Pour hot water over the broken pieces and using a spoon make sure they are completely under water. Wait for the water to cool down and start tearing the cartons in even smaller pieces. Wait for another half hour or so and break it even more. When you have a homogeneous paste, using a sieve separate the carton from the water and squeeze the water out as much as you can(is better to have less water at this point, you can always add more if needed. Place the material in a different container and add four spoons of PVA glue. Mix it well and after this step you should have a paste that is smooth enough to apply on your projects. I use my knife for that but you can use any modelling tools you have available. As a tip, don't make more than you need so you don't have storage and mold problems later

I soak my egg crates in a 5 gallon bucket with water and a 2nd 5 gallon bucket with just enough water, to push the crates in the 1st bucket underwater with the weigh of the top bucket. When completely soaked, I scoop some paper chunks with enough water, into a blender and mix to a finer pulp, I use my ninja mixer. I then use my strainer to remove as much water as needed for the result I'm looking for.

I've tried this just as you say but mine is not a paste, the egg carton and glue mixture seems to become more like cottage cheese (small lumpy bits) even after putting in an old food blender. Any tips on what I should do?

Hay una forma de hacer pega natural con flores de cayena o de las conchas de cambur. Se trituran las cayenas y se mezclan. Se ahorra en pega que es sumamente costosa en algunos paises.
