29 - How to Keep Acrylic Paint Wet for a Longer Time - Acrylic Painting Course SchaeferArt Bridget: Such a great tip as a mom of two toddlers I have to step away from my painting often and always come back to dry paint. You're an amazing person to post these videos thank you so much.

The spray bottle is a valuable tool when painting in acrylics. I also use Retarder gel medium. It keeps the paint from drying as fast, giving me a bit more open time. Though when plein air painting I have to spray my paints every 5 mins to keep them from skinning over. I use a spray bottle that produces a heavier mist, a fine mist is useless in dryer and hotter climates, i. e. the high desert.

you can also use a old glass plate for your paints and blending that way if you don't use all the paints all you have to do is put some cheap plastic rap over the paint and it will last for days and when you do need to clean off the plate it is easy and ready for the nest time.

Question, I was informed to use a slow drying medium to delay the drying process. Is that an option or was I misinformed.
