Good tips! I've also put cotton at the end of a dowel or paintbrush handle and covered it with a balloon (and taped/tied it on) to add traction so it doesn't slip. A very low-budget mahl stick: )

That funny you talking about finger, because at first and many time after. I didn't know that I was doing finger thing until I look down at my fingers with paint on them.
