Why You Suck at Drawing SchaeferArt ashwater: I think people have different motivations and styles. One thing you can do is look for something that motivates you. When you-re not being actively taught it can be difficult to piece together different things you want to or should try, but those are things to look out for and build up. Different people have different incentives. I-m not sure about this area being effective for alot of people, but maybe it works for some of them. Generally -neging- is not a very effective or helpful or good thing. Just my opinion.

Been drawing for about 2 years now. today was a wake up call
Used to working at things for atleast 1 hour and more, now I was tasked to make a simple semi-cartoonish sketch for an event card
Can't even draw shit right, what took my peers 5 minutes had me working on it for 30 because of how wrong it looked.
Now I understand why people put themselves under a time restraint when sketching

Soooo true! Michaelangelo ( who painted the sistine chapel, not Caravaggio), said something like this - if people knew how much work it took me to get my mastery, they wouldn't think I was that amazing. -
I know why I suck, I watch to many videos about drawing instead of doing something. anything. work is really the right way.
Thank you once more for your video

Ive been drawing for longer then a year, every single drawing i make sucks. Zero improvement, feels like im getting worse. So much effort for nothing, ive learnt nothing. Do you have any tips for me? I wanna be able to draw good but i just cant, please help, i wanna draw soo bad
reply

So when I draw the problem is that my visual ability is not the best and I can-t visualize what I want to draw and how it would be like in a different position without copying the drawing/photo exactly is there some way I can get better at visualizing what I want to draw?

You have no idea how badly I want to draw good. So badlyyy. I've been drawing each and every day for months, taking my time on my drawings but it still sucks. I don't get what I'm doing wrong. But I have been improving little by little. I think I might be rushing things

I wish I was good at drawing. I-m always seeing classmates and family members who are better than me. It brings my confidence down, and I have a very low self esteem because of it. I-m bad at drawing, and I-ll never be good. I didn-t learn anything from this video.

my problem is I cant translate images I see in my head to paper but if I look at something I usually can draw it may not look great but can draw it for the most part. But I've given up on drawing since I do it more for a hobby and I've been more focused on music.

1) lack in patience - need long term patience
2) not willing to put time and the effort - don-t be lazy
3) lack of materials
4) being too afraid to draw and making excuses
5) not putting in the work

ok im going to be honest when i draw i lesten to music and sit on the floor. when i draw i tend to lay down on the floor and listen to my music and then remeber i should be drawing.
