-Proko Hello. Why does the area between her right eye (closest eye, our left) and nose look that way. I am not an experienced artist and do not understand what it is I have an issue with, other than that it looks maybe as if the eye and nose are disconnected. It looks to me as if she was a piece of paper and someone had cut her eye and tucked the nose area beneath it. I apologize if this comment seems rude. I'm only trying to communicate my observation with very little artistic vocabulary, and understand the choices you made. I am not happy with this aspect of the drawing and need to understand it. You are a wonderful teacher, thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos and offering them out of your own pocket. I look forward to picking up on of your DVDs.

I know this is going to sound weird, especially since this is over 7 years old-- but I've been struggling with flat-feeling images for so long. I knew I lacked something but couldn't figure out what. I created shadows, edges etc. But even then-- it still felt flat. Then I realized I needed depth, but didn't know how. And your video helped me. It's so simple and to the point. I literally teared up in joy as it was liberating to know. Thank you so much!

I'm having trouble understanding how -dark values recede- and -light colours come forward- when it is also commonly said to use light values as we distant objects and darker values to bring them forward (landscape classes) Completely contradictory? I'm missing something right?
