The Illusion of Depth - Perspective, Details and Overlapping Forms - Proko
video description
I don't do it w/ vanishing points, though - I find it easier just to learn when it 'feels' right.
Btw, the -1 pt perspective hallway photo- was actually in full perspective, but it just showcased a single perspective more strongly than the others - but the others WERE still present.

I can see now you are going to help me a lot, Stan. I'm finishing school next year and after that I want to study art. There will be exams and I really need to prepare myself, because I lack basic art education. I have very little knowledge of how to draw proportions and almost 0 experience. With your videos I can practice in peace. I thank you for that.

love your content. If you could love nudity a bit less. I mean nothing against the human body and such but at the end of the day I mostly watch your vids in coffee shops, so when a shawang pops up on full screen.
Ok but seriously your stuff is so helpful, love your vids

Do one with boxes, only boxes and draw them at every angle possible or show us how to IN DETAIL Please. ? I like your structure one but was not detailed much and this is very important. Do it as if we know nothing about it. Please

Actually I don't see where the foreshortened leg looks right. The picture at 4: 15 is incorrect anyway because the right foot in the photo is ahead of the left foot but reversed in the drawing. To me it still looks extended.

What about artists in the comicbook business? Okay so usually the men are way bulkier than the women so it would help, but does that mean you can be a bit more ''freeform'' or ''stylized'' with the ladies?

i find that what people really mean, is whether it is necessary to know the names of the muscle. which is not. it is important to know their shapes and how they flex and what do they connect to, etc.

As it's said often -you need to know the rules before you can break them-. Learning to draw realistically before exaggerating so you know what you're exaggerating is important.

In response to nachman elharar, I also notice something different, a tired sad quality to this video. Worrisome. Be well Proko, love your videos.

You're very lucky, Stan. You've got two valued skills or talents--art and teaching. Very few people can do both of those things so well.
