Cheap Plant Pots: HomeGoods vs. T. J. Maxx vs. DollarTree!

Where do you get your indoor plant pots? I hit up 3 popular stores near me: HomeGoods, T. J. Maxx, and DollarTree to see what the selection and price was. I think you'll be surprised which won the battle! I ended up getting 4 pots for $36 at T. J. Maxx and 2 hanging pots for $6 in my HomeGoods haul, so a total of 6 pots for $42, which is $7 per pot. I may end up drilling drainage holes in some of these as they're solid bottoms and somewhat glazed, but for now I'll just monitor my watering carefully

Your eyes are gorgeous sir! Also I think the pots that were more expensive might have been brand names, higher price points, and or better materials and that's why they were more expensive. super love that you saw a strawberry planter I'm going to keep my eye out now. I'm 99% sure that t. J Maxx HomeGoods and Marshalls don't drive customer demand because they get items when they don't sell which is in my opinion way more environmentally friendly I could be wrong but I feel better when I shop these stores versus some of the other ones that might drive consumer demand and thus more production

Goodwill is one place; another is At Home. But beware - if you buy a light-colored pot like white or beige or something - if it's matte finish - I would highly recommend sealing it on the inside. I bought a really cool white with grey lines on it that developed brown and yellow streaks as I continued to water the plant due to the water seeping through the pot.

I love that youre reasonable about your spending. I'm as unimpressed with creators that want to fenagle dollar tree stuff to make it work as I am the people who spend a ridiculous amount at a high end store. I just want something that looks nice, is ready to go (save for maybe drilling a drain hole) for a reasonable price.

BTW, you do not have to purchase what you break at TJ's I work there, so I know. Just ask an associate to help you with sweeping any broken pieces off the floor. I very sure HomeGoods is the same way, as HomeGoods and TJ's are divisions of the same company. :-)

With TJ Maxx and Home Goods, which are the same company, they buy their stuff from other retailers at reduced prices. The price they sell then for is based on the original price, and often you are paying for the name they came from.

Ive broken down and got the TJX card. totally worth it. Btw, Home Sense has amazing pots. Tons of mega large pots, like the ones for a patio. I will be going back to get one or two since my husband is putting a patio in the back yard

The black and white pots look great in your room. I like how they match the pillows. I need to find some 5 gallon pots but everythings more than I want to spend. Would a brown paper grocery bag work? Or would that get ruined quickly?

I volunteer at a St. Vincent store and you can buy pots and statues from 10 cents to $5 I seen same rabbit at Menards for $14. 99 that was $1. 00. Check those places out because that money helps with food and rent, etc for people.

I found this video at the right time! I went to my local TJ Maxx to find 2 pots, and the selection seems a lot better since this video came out! Lots of pots with drainage holes, and a whole bunch of them had the attach trays!

I broke something in a store and took it to the lady working there, she thanked me and said that the stores usually have insurance for accidents like this and she appreciates that I gave it to her so no one gets hurt.

Garage sales and Thrift Stores are where I get all of mine. I got three pots for $2. 50 yesterday, and used 50 cents worth of paint, baking soda, and jute to transform them into really unique beauties last night. Fun!

Yeah very nice pots and flowers. Your right I love shopping at tjmax because its affordable price and lots of great items you can pick. Thank you for sharing and giving love and support.

Dollar Tree does have nifty little three-packs of 2 (I think) terra cotta pots. The drainage holes are tiny, but I haven't had any issues so far. I use them for baby succs, gifts, etc.

You may want to try Ross Dress For Less. They also have great, cheap plant pots. Thanks for the tips. and consider the weight on those plant pots for placement. Namaste!

My dollar tree has these nice wide terracotta colored plastic pots, plan on using them for raised tomato plants cause of dogs, but also because they are THAT big!
