I Left The Log Cabin For 7 Days Rhino: Obviously you go on many fishing trips, you just happen to include smoking fish after a trip in the spring or fall as there is no snow. In Canada's far north the people smoke using aspen or popular trees not evergreen or spruce. Your setup for smoking was much easier to construct. very nice, would have loved to sit down to a feed of those fish.

I watched your video from the very start of your two year building a cabin. it's a long vedio but i enjoy watching till the end. i've seen you throw the axed into the wood ooohhh! You're amazing. you broke the ice and go down for too long. the dog worried waiting for you to come. .i love watching your vedio. from the philippines.

Well done Erik, you and your family should be proud. There is too much plastic in our 'modern world'. I understand why plastic needs to be used sometimes, but if you can live without it don't use it. Myself and my dog practically live on what I shoot or catch. Modern isn't always best. Take care. Tim W, England.

I felt wholly inadequate as a man after watching this. Casually guts pig to have a BBQ for grandad. My partener and myself came to the conclusion there was only one person he learnt those skills off - His Grandfather. Well done chap. - 30 degrees and snow. My outie becomes an inni. Not for me

It's wonderful to see your beautiful northern part of the world where it never gets completely dark for some periods, and to see you ice-fishing on a frozen lake. There is nothing quite like a dog for company and mutual warmth in the great outdoors too. That smoked trout looks delicious.

At 17: 00, did you mirror-flip the video? I thought you had a weird left-handed screw to hold the auger handle in place, but when the auger itself ended up being left-handed, and then was magically right-handed again at 17: 40, that gave the game away.

Even though I am an aviation and music freak, this is without doubt the most interesting and moving video I have seen on u-Tube. ever. Thanks Erik for your passion, your patience and shear hard work and for the inspiration to share it with us.

Ive been watching tour videos for over 2 years now, I used to throw it on in the background while doing homework or studying and found it so soothing. Now I revisit from time to time just for a little wilderness escape, thanks for everything Erik

By the way you should never cut your hair like that with out a mirror haha. Your first video log cabin build had an element of the soap opera I could not wait to see you tackle and complete the next unit of the project. Magnificent.

You are truly a craftsman and starting so young. Fantastic dedication and self motivation. I wish other younger people would look at this and realise this is how we are meant to live. Excellent
