Q&A Why No Ponytail? How Do You Get Rid Of Weeds?
video description
Being inspired by many of your other videos, I redid a few flower beds that had almost completely died out during our freak winter storm in Feb 2021 in Texas. Also did a few containers. I was always scared of fertilizer and was also quite skeptical as to whether fertilizer really did make a huge difference. I overcame my fear watching your videos and my containers are doing so much better this year!
Thanks for keeping it real. Thanks for the inspiration. You have a wonderful positive demeanor!

Not sure how I missed this one when it was new, but it is always a bonus to find another to watch. Aw, Dexter. Your video where you announced the sad news about him showed up again in my feed yesterday and I just couldn't watch it again. But, now it is nice to go back to happier vids featuring him. Distant Drums. so many roses so little deer proof fencing, lol. To think for the first 3 1/2 decades of my gardening life I didn't have to worry about deer. I didn't appreciate what a good thing that was until I moved here where even my roses behind the fencing get their buds chopped off the deer can stretch over to get them.

I was so excited to hear, you, Laura say you love David Austin roses! , In So CA one of the best resources for them them is Ottos and Sons, in Filmore, . CA. North of San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita.
Over 100, 000 roses. if you're an Austin Addict, like me, they carry those allowed for sale in the US.
And David Austin online, use the United States Version. they can send own root or bare root.
my absolute favorite ever.
I have over 30+ varieties. I cannot help myself.

During your next Q&A can you address how to get rid of Pigweeds? I'm here in Boise, ID and just moved into a new house. The previous owners had a small area of dirt in the yard, which i assume was their garden area. I rototiller the dirt, added some new soil and covered with top soil/compost. Now, only in the areas where I planted my herbs and veggies, I have pigweeds encroaching on my plants! How do I prevent this from happening in the future? I've just been picking them by hand.

Thank you for another wonderful video and visit. It's great to see you so relaxed and not having to work as hard. You & Aaron are certainly blessed and I've heard you mention it multiple times. You guys are the kind of people that I could never be jealous of or have a problem being happy for, Laura. Please stay the same, warm, approachable person that you are now and never let fame change who you are. Best of luck to all of you!

I didnt catch the name of the landscape cloth, my ears are tuned to a different accent I think. Anyone catch that name? I use left over rolls of plain old unprinted, non bleached newspaper. $3 a end roll maybe a few hundred feet. I double a length and put mulch on it. Very rare to see a weed. Sometimes you may have to redo some spots, but every area I have been slowly doing, gives me years of no weeds.

Purnus Cistena are the most beautiful trees I've seen. They grow well in Southern AZ and they grow about 25 ft. ; kind of on the smaller side of trees. They are prone to some attacks by certain pests. Be careful and make sure you feed it well and use pesticide as needed. Read up on care and feeding for those trees.

Hello Laura and Erin & Ben!
Any chance you will do a video on winterizing your drip irrigation system?
We are in North Idaho and adding dripline has been so helpful-- I would have never tried it if I didn't have your fabulous videos coaching me along!
Thank you so much!

Santa Barbara, can get hot here! As a gardener I've always been a long-sleeves person: helps prevent sunburn, scratches, biting insects, sap, et al, and yes, I've gotten used to it, rarely in short sleeves! I also have long hair for the same reasons! Thanks for mentioning this!
