Laura, I just think its so wonderful that you are creating these garden beds for your friends! All those shrubs really added so much dimension to the garden, I can just imagine how great its going to look as it fills in!
I do have a question about the Double Play Doozie Spiraea - do you think this compact shrub would be happy in large pots/planters? We are renting and trying not to invest too much into someone elses property, for the moment. But I do have some large (maybe 3 diameter) pots flanking my garage. Ive been looking for something I can plant in them that I can take with me when we buy our own house. Thanks for replying if you can!

This project is looking so beautiful that it makes me want to pull everything out of our garden and start from scratch! I know you did a video on the augers and I was so inspired that I bought a couple smaller ones. I've tried using them with an 18v drill without much success. I don't know that much about tools/voltage. Will a 20v drill make that big a difference or is my soil just too dense and heavy here in the Willamette Valley? You make it look so easy but it might be that you have great, amended soil and I. don't.

I think they should put a fountain or some kind of water element in that big empty area on the other side of the future weeping blue evergreen tree. A tall but skinny water feature would give the sound of water behind that sitting area and can be viewed from the window. A water feature that doesn't obstruct the view and like lavender or something can go around it. That's what I think they should do in front of that window near the coral berries at the 16 minute mark.

I bought a 60-year-old house. I removed all of the older large evergreens up-against the house. Nothing worse than having to work on a house and dealing with large plants literally up-against the house. All my bushes and flowers are in the yard away from the house. The men that came to replace the old windows thanked me for that and complemented me on my use of bushes and flowers in different areas of the yard away from the house.

Love seeing your plantings at your friends place. It looks incredible since the last planting. How many times did you have to change the Dewalt battery pack for the drilling of the holes? Thank you for the wonderful inspiration and introduction to new trees and plants. Love watching your show.

I have enjoyed watching this so much I have watched three times. This is such an inspiration to me to redo the flower beds here all but the lime lights, Miss Ruby, phlox and sedum may just be going out and new plants in. Thank you for your inspiration and you being yourself blesses me.

When I hear False Spirea I shudder since the type here in Zone 3 Edmonton Alberta Canada sucker so much that they are invasive. I hope the type you use are not that kind since it took me forever to rid myself of these. Thank you for all you do to inspire us to garden.

I love getting all the deets of these plant varieties. its so informational and I just soooo appreciate the knowledge! You make learning about plants quite fun. I wish I paid more attention to plant tags in my first gardens at previous homes. but never too late to learn!
