I've been traveling solo in the wilderness in northern Minnesota since 2003 and have never gotten a saw. I am very interested in getting the Silky Pocketboy. Do you have the 130 or 170? Thanks for the fantastic videos. I read Mrs. Mike when I was a young girl about a girl who married a RCMP and lived in harsh conditions in the wilderness. For some reason that was the life for me! I was fortunate to have parents that took me camping all over the US and Canada. So of course I would love to build a cabin off grid and live happily ever after. p. s. I checked your gear on your website and the saw is not on the list.

Notice right off that you use good quality to begin with. I'm an old fart and still using my gear from the '70's and '80's. Did a solo at MCCrae one winter and a front came in dropping to -25 F. with a streamer that dropped about a foot of snow. Old Eureka Sentinel kept me dry and sheltered and reading candle kept me warm enough to enjoy the complete isolation of the snowstorm. Warmed up enough the next day to get out and shoot icicles off the rocks. Thanks for showing what works for you and kudos for being an adventurer.

Sean, I also enjoy your videos and I'm glad to see your reviewing equipment, but the audio could be much better in this video. I had real difficulty hearing what your saying (speak up. As you move you hand around the camera the scratching and ponding noise is horrible. If you place the camera on a tripod where you can be hands free, you could eliminate the noise picked up by your hand movements on the camera. Keep making videos Sean, you have much to share.

Hey! Only other guy on YT I've seen with that Bivvy. I absolutely love mine. Use it all seasons too. Won't ever carry a bigger tent again. I've got a similar liner from S2S but its the thermolite. Adds 10-15 (F) degrees I think? Anyways great loadout. Thanks for sharing

great videos! I have never done a winter camp trip (Yurt which doesnt count lol) but id really like to give it a shot. Every year do a Algonquin trip in the summer, might try winter this time!

Great overview & explanation. Not too many outdoorsman carry snare wire any more! Great to keep those traditional skills alive.
