Building the roof on the timber frame, square log off-grid workshop before the next major snowfall. liz: As one guy wrote we ve been waiting for the roof along while! Amazing woodcraft. It reminds me of Japanese wood building, all the pieces interlocking. Very Zen. Beautiful video. I can feel your peace of mind now that the decision has been made to move.

Bet the sun coming up over the ridge is welcoming!
So much praise to our Creator - the beauty within your property, which we only see a glimpse - not the full picture. Last but not least, but equally important, he made the mind like a computer in itself - intelligence- which you display in such an amazing way! Taking us all back to a time when one really had to work to survive; build without the modern day tools, etc.
Sending many cheers across the miles! Throughally enjoy your videos!
Your dog & I have the same name! Mine is spelt Callie - Cali pronounced the same. Cali sure does have a journey of his/her own! Your dog sure has the life!

Thanks for posting these great videos! I am wondering if you are going to build a timber frame cabin for your home or stay with the log cabin? Looking forward to all your future builds. After watching your videos over the years I have come to the conclusion that off grid living is a great way of life! I don t think nothing could be more satisfying than the rewards of all your hard work. Love your videos!

Hi Sawn, very interesting point about the pitch, however Cali did not look impressed when you showed her in the next frame. One thing that I don t understand is, if you are leaving this location for another location due to your neighbours why are you continuing with the wood shop build. I would think you would take the wood with you to the new location and build it there.

I cannot imagine why someone would give this a thumbs down. If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it. I personally think that it's very educational and worth looking at a means of learning that there are different ways of approaching building for self reliance. Keep it up Shawn.

Be careful my friend. I as you spend alot of time at my cabin doing alot by myself. I do try to keep my cell phone with me just in case. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing what you do next. This workshop will be temporary housing till you build your new cabin!

Shawn. I had to take a step back from you videos because you pretty much started over again and I wished that never happen to you and your family. I watch a video of your friend who spoke highly of you. So I m back watching your videos regularly.

Great stuff mate, I love watching this bloke build I reckon if I was there I would still sit back and just watch him go at it haha, nah I'm an Aussie I would have to jump in and help ya mate. How long does a saw last you before you need to replace her?

Know you are planning to move to a new location, and I was just thinking the current homestead might be a nice AirBnB for many folks who want to escape the city and get back to the country life? Just a thought

when you build your new cabin; to make it go up faster will you use square logs like how you did here or stick to the round ones? The round ones just seems to look nicer but pain to layout and build with.
