Barred owls nest on our homestead every year and this year they chose to raise their owlets in a hollow maple tree 75 feet from our chicken coop where we could watch them and film them every day in May. Neat.
I was watching and listening to the different owls
I think two different ones than the mother shown at the beginning.
I have one near me that sounds similar to the one in the distance.
I couldn't keep track of how many babies.
One and year
I didn't see any feeding inside or at the burrow, though
Nocturnal feedings, or edited out
I see and feeding out on a limb later.
No feedings inside the burrow
(The mother coming with fresh meat in other words)
Some might think they just grow.
How often fee, and how many a year
Nice though, Shawn.

Hi Shawn ' great footage of your neighbors In Washington State where I grew up I was walking to a lake by my farm one spring day in a open field and out of nowhere, no sound a giant owl swooped down a tapped hy head with its tallens and I watched him fly off up into a thick tall strand of fir trees. I was freaked out not only how huge it was I think a great horned could have literally scalped me but I think it's intentions were I was trespassing! That stuck with me for many years still today. Thanks for the really cool video

I have barred owls at my home in northern West Virginia. Many years ago, I had a kitten and heard this owl. I would not let Jesse out unless I could be right w/ him. I memorized the call and gave it to a bird person at the West Virginia Wildflower Pilgrimage. they told me it was a barred owl Apparently my kitten was pretty safe. Now I have red shouldered hawks w/ little ones, but my 2 kitties are too big for them.

So awesome. Just the sounds of it you can close your eyes and it just takes you away to a peaceful place. Tysvm for sharing. I love waking up to the birds singing. It's the mornin wake up call.

It’s truly an amazing thing how they blend so well with the environment they’re in, nothing is accidental when it comes to life on this planet, this is the work of the Lord God Almighty!

This used to be a great video about building a cabin and homestead with old tools. Now it nothing but a fishing, hunting and nature show. Miss the old self reliance.

This conversation is a reminder of the power of dialogue to bridge divides and foster understanding. It's a source of optimism in an often divided world.

Sure hate to waste my data watching owls. I live by a mess of them, don’t need to spend my data watching these for now 8 minutes!
