canadianwilderness There is one thing I would consider changing about the log cabin design. Winter has arrived and it's already a bad one, which means I need a survival kit for my winter transportation

Have you considered a backup plan in case there was a fire in the main cabin which you could not put out? Do you have food, water, clothing, first aid, bedding, LED flashlights, spare truck and snowmobile and UTV keys stored in the sauna? Also food for Cali. A bug out bag in the cabin with important papers, spare phone, and things you could not afford to lose. When your home is on fire is not the time to have to think of things. Believe me, your mind goes blank.

Last week, mid December, we had a married couple go through the ice on their snowmobile. Every year we have one or more deaths in Minnesota from people going for it. I think most of these people are doing it for the excitement and know it's not safe.
Not sure myself how many inches you want frozen. Having the St. Croix and Mississippi rivers near me I see it never freezes and people still on it.

I would change the furs on the windows, use red and black buffalo plaid. You can always line them with energy efficient material. The cabin would look good with a little color. With all those animal skins, which you could probably hang somewhere else. Its masculine and it needs some thing a little feminine. You are extremely talented and I love to watch.

you can always go down for more room. dig a basement room. one that you could toss all your cut wood into and have a box down there mounted to the ceiling of the cellar with a days supply that you could have access to via trap door from inside the cabin. if the basement room is done with enough space it can double as a root cellar with shelves.

Hi have you thought about a air locked wood box, so you can leave wood box lid or door open while you are loading it with fire wood with the inner door closed to keep the heat in the cabin, then when you've got it all loaded you go inside, open the inner sealed door and transfer fire wood to hearth with out losing a lot of heat, just a thought

Good decision on the snowmobile! Guarantee that back in the day before snowmobiles existed, folks back then wished they had snowmobiles! It's still a My Self Reliant way of life! And, although I see & understand what things you would've changed about the cabin, which I happened to agree with you on, I still think the cabin is Perfect!

if you wanted to add an entryway you could add it outside you have plenty overhang thats what I would do rather that making the living space smaller just a suggestion love your videos I'm coming in late and trying to catch up thanks for all your efforts

Does Canada require that you keep your guns with the trigger locks on at all times even when stored in your own home? Or do you just do that as a precaution in case someone came and jacked your stuff.

never rely on makeshift tourniquets (tape) buy an actual TQ like a sof-t or a CAT it could very well save your life because if a TQ is needed there isnt time for arts and crafts to improvise one.
