Ii don't know what the laws are in your state and I suggest that you check. But here in Michigan it's illegal to hunt squirrels from a treestand. It's actually illegal to hunt anything other than deer and coyote from any elevated platform. It's also illegal to place permanently fixed stands to trees on public lands. And the best way to cook squirrels is in a pressure cooker. 20 minutes and it's fall off the bone tender. And in case you didn't know, they make great spaghetti sauce and chili once pressure cooked and deboned.

I have a question that I been Meaning to ask hunters it-s once you catch your meal skin cook eat how do you know that animal isn-t sick or has a disease bc it is in the wild so anything could transfer to that animal so that-s just my question been wondering this sense before COVID

Best to put in Crock-Pot or Dutch oven little bit of onions garlic pinch of salt not too much early on after 4 or 5 hours you can deep fry it grill it or make baingan stew but throw away broth in the Crock-Pot

Much better if you use. 177 or. 22 I. G. T. air rifle which flies 1200-1500 fps in the air. Stealth way so that many squirrels you can hunt. But anyway, what you guys planned, I really impressed honestly.

Squirrel is the only wild game I've had. A friend had been out camping. And a hunter had given him a couple of squirrels he shot. Tasted pretty good. Almost like pork.

You want to get squirrels? Lose the powder burner and get a good air gun! Then check out the UK guys. They got it down to a science! I did and get lots!

An air rifle would be so much better for you! A. 177 in this situation, 100+ shots per fill and absolutely no issues with getting the job done quietly

I cut at the neck and then around the head and just pull down all the way and get it off the legs and feet after I cut them add probably gonna try that

I would stay away from eating squirrels now since a couple have been found with the plague but when I did cook mine I made it fried in a deep fryer
