Fishing Chest Deep during the Mullet Run

Fishing Chest Deep during the Mullet Run

I went up north to the Indian River Lagoon with my buddy Jayson Arman and my friends from facebook. The mullet run is going on and the trout, snook, and Jacks are going on a feeding frenzy in the lagoon. We threw on our waders and began the morning right before the sun came up. From the start of the day, we began to see fish busting left and right including tarpon. We started throwing artificial lures for trout and whacked them all day long. These fish were feeding on mullet and pilchards and were much chunkier than normal. My friends from Facebook also got a few solid ones after the sun came up. Overall it was a great day wading during the mullet run, it never gets old watching this massive feeding in our lagoons, especially while wading

Hey guys- great video I do want to encourage you (and your viewers, that your chest waders come with a belt for a reason. Without wearing it they are a death trap. One step into an unexpected hole, or a sudden trip leads to filled waders from chest to foot- and I guarantee youll run out of breath before you get them off. I know Im being the dad here, but my buddy Dean lost his life from not wearing his safety strap a few years ago - I spread the word in his honor. Keep up the great content

Nice I was just fly fishing the Indian River a few weeks ago, up north by mosquito lagoon. Caught a trout, a few snook, and even a small flounder. Anyway Josh you should totally try saltwater fly fishing it's my personal favorite way to fish and is loads of fun It's not too hard to get into really and I think it would make for a sick vid

I don't think dude on the left took a breath during the outro lol. Hate it when all the big fish are around and you just catch the little Jack's and trout. Still fun fishing but everyone wants to catch the monster they see blowing up their spot, those are frustrating days

Those are decent sized trout anyway. Surely there's a few big gator trout swimming around in those same areas. Not as many as there used to be. but still, there should be a few.

When you catch a jack that won't hold still squeeze the blue dots on it's gills. That seems to paralyze them until you let them go. It makes them a lot easier to unhook.

Really enjoyed the closeup in the water camera work & visceral feel of this video and I love the Fan pics idea. Good stuff Keep up the good work

I love your videos but I will no longer stand for your abuse of the verb piped. It has bled over into my personal everyday vocabulary.
