CATCHIN GIANT FRESHWATER PRAWNS & BIG BULL REDS - Bluegabe Patrick: Awesome video Gabe and keep it up! I would love to see more shore fishing like you did with the Red fish you caught and the catch clean cook of the crappies! Remember there will always be negativity and disliking of people regardless what anyone does in the world! You just got to ignore it and be blessed and happy with your positive fans and friends you make a long the way and when you look back to this video one day you wont regret it! -Pat

That's a Giant Freshwater Prawn of the Genus Macrobrachium. The Genus is spread in warm temperate to tropical waters worldwide, with distributions closer to brackish water as larvae require it to survive. The larges of them comes from the Caribbean, M. carcinus. They are farmed in the Southern United States as food, noticeably M. rosenbergii, which originates in the Western Indo Pacific.

Use the smallest sunfish hooks u can find and use a cane rod and a small piece of the outside of a hotdog. Prawns love the leathery part of the hot dog and you can actually hook them they are invasive in texas but they are great to eat. We catch them out of a creek that runs into the lake at our families ranch in East texas outside of Athens TX. We have at times caught a cooler full

To better your videos or make them more interesting to watch, I would suggest you add sound or music to them. Music that fits whatever video your making. Traveling, Hunting, Fishing, Cooking, Exploring, Adventuring etc. So if anyone would hear the music or sound somewhere else, it would always remind them of your videos. -

We call them freshwater prawns or giant river prawns here in Singapore. Usually they will go to a paypond using prawning rod which is like a small pole fishing rod with a float adjusted so that the hook grazes on the bottom. They use small chopped chicken liver as bait. They usually skewer them and put it on the grill.

Like others have said just be your self you're doing a bang-up job. Relax take a deep breath and everything else will fall into place. I look forward to all of your video and helpful hints. There will be good days and not so good. Roll with the punches and you will end up the winner. Till the next time. we gone.

Any of us who love the outdoors should share with the other guys who really enjoy the same things. I live in NYC and we don-t have the clear water you guys can dive and swim in. Keep up the great work. Very enjoyable. Hunting and fishing is what I live for and it-s great seeing you Florida boys go!

Hey Gabe. we have these prawns in Trinidad but we call them crayfish. They're the same as you caught and ate in Jamaica. Here we use a headlight and hunt them at night in the small rocky rivers. Just take a 3 or 4 pronged harpoon mounted on a broom handle! These buggers are fast so good luck!

Great video Bluegabe. What you have there is/are Big Claw River Shrimp (Macrobrachium carcinus. The largest of the six native shrimp in Florida. People from Florida to Brazil enjoy eating these tasty critters. Bon appetit.
